Sure, the LS1 Fbodys are fast but theres a reason they stopped production on them. I say to anyone who wants to buy one...enjoy the cheaply made interior, constantly breaking power windows, unreliable A/Cs and a million and one other parts that GM neglected to issue over the entire lifespan of the 4th Gen Fbody.
Well,
** Siemens brand power window motor from Autozone on both doors is a permanent window fix (takes 30 minutes per door, I've done it myself on a '95).
** I actually love the interior... the seating position is absolutely perfect, as are the steering wheel radio buttons on the 2000+ models
** I've never heard of unreliable A/C on any GM vehicle, honestly. GM has the best, coldest A/C in the business. My Colorado has frosty air coming out even when it's 97 degrees outside, as it was here in Houston today. Even my 1995 Z28 with 108,000 miles had frosty, cold, cold, cold A/C. Never had a problem with GM AC on any vehicle other than age-related issues (I have had many old, beat-up, ancient junkboxes)
I will grant you, they neglected the F-body toward the end, but the 1993 model was a revolution that Ford never caught up to... put a Vette motor in a car less than 1/2 the price. Brilliant!
That said, I really don't know whether my next car will be a Mustang or a Camaro.... depends on what I want to spend when the time comes and whether I can find a super clean example for a fair price. I don't want any car that's ever had any body work whatsoever done to it. I've been burned by that twice now (once, buying a car that was previously totalled, but I didn't know it -- second time, I bought a spanking new 2000 Z28, only to have some jack-tool sideswipe me 6 months later!!)
So how about that dyno run????? !!!
