Just got new wheels from American Muscle... Black Bullitts ... 17x8 for the front and 17x10.5 for the rear, and now I'm trying to decide on tires, so I'm asking for opinions/recommendations. I'm thinking 245/45/17 for the front, and 315/35/17 for the rear.
I was thinking either MT ET Streets or BFG g-Force T/A.
The car is mostly my dd, but I only drive 3 miles to and from work, and I'll be putting the factory wheels on for winter driving, but I will occasionally be taking it to the track. So..............
tell me what ya think.

I have had Mickey T/ ET Streets and Nitto 555R's. The Mickeys are unbelieveable for hooking at the track but they don't last long for street use. The Nitto's last pretty long for Drag radials but they don't hook quite as good. I am in a similar driving situation to you, I don't have very far to work, not even a set of stop lights. I have never had problems in the rain with either set. I know that is a concern for people but since you don't drive very far and have the stockers for winter I wouldn't hesitate. I can't say about the BFG's but have heard good things about them. As for size I would go with a 255 up front, a 245 may be a little small. I think mine are 255/50/17 on my 17x9's.

If you main concern is the best possible et's, get the MT dr's. But if you want them to last and still have great traction on the street, get the Nitto's. I have had the Nitto's on for over 8,000 miles and I've ran about 20-25 times at the track on them and they are just now showing some wear.

I also have Nitto DR's as my daily driver as well and they're great. I never drove them in the rain (don't plan to either) since it hardly rains in California, but the ride quality sucks like mad :)

DR's are a bad idea is this is your daily driver, and you get stuck in the rain. Its like getting rid of your old tires, and putting new ones on with much less water traction. Use the DR's at the track and get some normal road tires if you drive your car everyday.

There was a post on here where a member lost control just driving straight with DR's in the rain. Dont remember his name. Be safe!

I have driven my car with the Nitto DR's plenty of times in the rain. They grip better in the rain than most street tires. I can't say wether or not the BFG's are going to perform well in the rain, but the Nitto's are great.
