I have been a Stang lover since 64 when they first came out.In 64 I was barely able to pay my my way through college, so owning a Stang was totaly out of the question.44 years later and after having raised a family I was finaly able to purchase a 2004 GT.My GT has less than 5000 miles on it as it mostly stays in the garage and gets pampered (my wife says I am into my second childhood, and I agree with her).I have spent many hours on this forum reading and learning much more about the Mustang than I could learn any where else.I am amazed at the amount of expert advice and knowledge that is available on this forum. Now for my question. My CD player just quit working,it will not eject nor play. The only thing that works is the radio.I searched the FAQ and did a search but found nothing I could use.I need to know how to remove the Cd player.Preferably a link with illustrations. Now that I am retired I have the time to try to fix things myself.I suspect jammed CD's as there are 4 in there that I cannot eject etc.Any advice or ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and I opolagize for the long post.Thanks---

there are 2 holes on each side in the front
you can go to Autozone or Kragen and ask for the FORD stero removal tools.

they are U shaped and slide right in, you press down firmly and pull ever so slighty and the unit will slide, once you are able to get a grip pull said system out and remove all cables going into the system and begin the tear down

There are not holes in the sides of the radio for "ford keys" That is only for 00 and down mustangs. You have to remove the bezel around the shifter then pull of the bezel around the AC and radio. There are no screw it is all clips. Once you have removed these panels you will see 2, 7mm bolts. After removing these the radio will slide out. as far as the CD's being stuck the first thing i would do is reset the radio and see if that clears up the problem. When you up plug the radio then plug it back in it will search through the cds to see what is inside this Might fix it. if not you can of course take the radio apart. Once you take the outer case off it is easy to see if there is a jammed CD.

That's only for the 94-00 Mustangs.

On the 01-04 Mustangs, you need to remove the shifter bezel/boot. Then remove the HVAC/radio bezel and unplug the TC/defrost/Fog light

Then to take the radio out, it's just two bolts on the bottom. I forget the size, but want to say 8mm bolts. Very easy to do once you remove the trim.

BTW, the radio not ejecting CD's is a very common problem
