Congrats! A low # and only 1 of 185 made (as you know). Give us some details: where'd you find it, miles, # of owners etc. BTW - I too have always had a preference for that color scheme
Yup, being such a low number, it has a unique upper intake. Look at the smooth side towards the MC. Starting on I don't know what number cobra, as well as all reproduction units, its not smooth like that there. There is a little ledge.
Ya want the story?
Written last night just after getting home: I'm about to pass out, so lets see if I can keep this sorta short. The car was bought from under me about 6 months ago. Dude sold it due to a very fast upcoming divorce. I even drove 2 hours to a car show in Ocala to check it out in person. The guy I bought it from wanted a low mileage notch, but got sick of hunting and bought this 93. About 3 months ago I saw it at Stang Fest via the new owner, but didn't see anyone near the car. 2 weeks later I find it on craigslist for sell for 14.4K using the pics I took at Stang Fest for the ad.
Via a junk email account I found out he's firm on the price. About a month ago it turned up at 1993cobra.com for 13.5K. Thats a fair price, but just a bit more than I wanted to pay. I asked if he could do 12.5, and he said no as he hadn't really posted it anywhere else, and he thought he could get 13.5. He could have, but it may have taken time. Last friday night, he shots me a PM saying he's found the exact notch he wants, color and all, and can do 12.5K, if he can have the cash within a week. I made the 3 hour drive up there last weekend, and looked her over real well. Sunday night I do an online loan application as I THOUGHT it would be easier for a quick small loan, than grabbing money out of my investments. Long part sorta short, they said they would give me the amount I wanted, but the seller had to jump through hoops. They wanted a signed copy of the title notarized, same goes for his license, a power of attorney form, an inspection done at a ford dealer, etc, etc, ETC. He did all that thursday afternoon, and faxed it over. I call the bank and tell them I'll pick the money up friday morning. 5pm thursday they call me and say, "Oh, come to find out, we can only give you 80% of trade in value" which leaves me a little over a thousand short, and 24 hours till I'm leaving to pick it up. Thank god for master card cash advances. Smiley I picked up the cash, and went to the DMV to get a temp tag(which is what I was told you have to do in FL vs just driving it home with no plates like in IL). 2 hours later, no joke, the lady tells me since I don't have the signed title, nor am I the seller, I can't get a temp tag. I grabbed the plates from the 89(yeah, thats REALLY not legal!!!!) and left for Jax. I just got home a bit ago. Oh, and it was a going away party for a girl at work last night, so I partied 1 mile from my bank until 2am, drove an hour home, slept 5 hours, woke up, and drove an hour BACK to my bank. Then I put up with the a******s at the DMV, 6 hours of driving to get the cobra....yeah, I'm about to pass out.
