Alright...my 05 torch red gt needs some stripes....I want gloss white...two solid stripes w/ 1/2" pins...but every damn book, magazine, poster etc is a torch red gt or cobra with white sripes! ANy idead on different colors that would look good on torch red..except black....not flashy enough for me...I got a price to have the stripes painted instead of a sticker and it was $500....i thought that was pretty good considering a good stripe kit is around $300....

Just an opinion but you should have Cosmos Black Metallic stripes painted on your Mustang. It is an BMW M3 color which has sapphire blue, silver, green, orange and purple flake in the paint. It's cool as ****. It might set you back about 500-750 more than flat stickers but will help with resale (Yeah right like your ever gonna sell it). If you are looking to purchase and dont already own the your better off going with the silver stickers cause the dealer will kill you on painting charges

maybe silver.....does anyone know the process of painting stripes? Do they sand the clear coat off paint the stripes and then reclear it? Im guessing the cant paint over the clearcoat.

Clean, hit with 1-3 coats of paint depending on how much and who you go to and then hit it with 2-3 coats of clear. Some places will allow you to buy the paint and then charge you for labor only. I didnt notice where you live but I highly recommend painted stripes. Stickers really look tacky but its a personal preference and also financial of course. If you need any other info let me know. i'm just trying to help.

Well, after playing w/ the stripe machine for an hour (thanks LV51FER) I like Redfire or Mineral Grey, but I prefer things that are more subtle. Now if flashy is your thing I would go w/ either Screaming Yellow or Sonic Blue, assuming you are limited to that pallete and I would stay away from the green unless maybe you were born on or around December 25th.

The Redfire option does look pretty cool. It is subtle yet will stand out with the metallic flake. Mineral Grey has flake as well, but less subtle. Even Alloy would look tough!

Gold would probably look nice. Some of the 1966 Shelby GT350H's had that combo, and it looks pretty damn good. A silver or grey would also look pretty nice.

Here are some pictures of the red/gold GT350H. Scroll down to the "Shelby" section of pictures. http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/timeline/64-66/66/

Oh, and don't let anyone fool you. Painting stripes won't add value to the car. It could possibly even detract some value.

I also agree that stripes will not add to the value of your car. Some may not like them at all and that could actually detract from the value.
Add them if you like them and don't mind paying the money. Don't count on getting it back.
Any photos of redfire stripes on torch red. I too have a torch red GT and would love to see what that combination looks like.

I agree w/ stan..Id like to see the redfire ontorch red stripes....as for stripes adding value.....well, im not selling it....ever! this is gonna sit in my garage when im 50 (im 20 now) and then ill be going to cruise nights and car shows with it during my retirement...I think...so the resale thing wont be a prob here..thanks for the input again!:nice:

Yeah, Right now its either silver or white...I just love the way the white looks against the torch red....and I want a really glossy color to mathc the red and white gives you that look. I m also thinking silver because its different, but its kind of a dull color....i dont know if itll shine enough for my liking....
