chances of passing GA emmisions with no cats???

like turkey said...ive seen people do it... just take your heat sheilds off your old cats and have a freind tack weld them on the off road x or h pipe...

oh btw....

are mac prochambers 50 state legal?

I have a welder, I could do that, but they don't visual check around here anyway, the guys are so damn lazy

But I've got this up on a local forum and usually those guys are all hardcore racers with 5 sec(1/8 mile) streetcars and they know ppl. I might get the hookup.

Beast, back your timing way down, back your fuel pressure down, put some of that emissions pass stuff in your tank etc and it just might work as long as they don't do a visual. I don't have any cats on the lex and they did not flag me last time I did a GA inspction on it, but that just might be cuz they don't do visual on newer stuff.

you could try what people have said above, but with the visual inspection its hard to pass. i guess you could try to do the heat-shield trick, but i know the guys that ive been to in cobb look hard for my cats when i go to get some stuff done.

Hmmmm....
Ok here is the plan:

Smog pump going on, should I try to put a smaller pulley on it to pump more air??:D
Timing low as I can go, probably around 5-6
Guaranteed to pass stuff
and I've heard that you can put like a pint of alcohol in your gas and it lowers the combustion temp or something, reducing CO emissions, any truth to that?? Would that mean rubbing alcohol??

Acetone works superbly and will not kill your gaskets at all. 1 oz for every 4 gallons of gas in the tank. When I use the acetone my rear bumper stays nice and clean and de-carbonized. When I don't use it, it builds up nicely until I wash the car.

why put the smogpump back on?

it will do nothing but pump air into your exhaust. if they dont do a visual check of the cats, they probably wont check for that.

im willing to bet when you pull up and they hear it, they will definately look for cats...not ones that meow either! lol.

i went to get inspected last year and i had my stock hpipe on and the guy asked me if i had cats and looked under the car:rolleyes:

Yeah I failed!!! Barely though. Thanks for the info fast. I failed by 8 ppm on the hydrocarbons(sooooo close) and failed the NO by 200 some PPM. They said that I also failed the visual, so I am going to tack on one heat shield(the guy was cool about it but his manager was a douche)

He also said to drive it around alot more, I only drove it for like 20 minutes(dumb on my part) So I've got 30 days for a free retest. I WILL get it to pass w/o cats though.

I'll use the acetone and give it a good 2 plus hr drive, it will be HOT HOT HOT!!!
