2008 Bullitt now in the official ford order guide!

Bah, what a waste. :( If it had a new engine, six speed trans, supercharger, any of that; then I'd be more interested. Otherwise, it's already been done. For a tribute to Steve McQueen and Bullitt.....it's pretty boring. It's not a car I would even think about buying if they mark it up past MSRP.:notnice:

Just wait until the Boss/Mach 1 returns ! I can just imagine what the stealership markup will be then ? more than likely between 10-15K above MSRP :notnice:

Disgusting. I bought my '03 Cobra convertible used for $30,000 back in '03. Now you can't even find a used GT500 without a $5,000+ markup. New ones are even more insane.

Why can't they do like they did when the Viper or Elise first came out. Have a list you put your name on at each dealership and they just move down the list ordering and receiving cars. Then selling for MSRP or less to the name on the list. None of this "highest bidder" :bs: .

I am the SVT Team Leader for a large volume Ford dealership. We sold all of our 2001 Bullitts for MSRP or less. Sold all of our 2003-4 Cobras and Mach 1's for MSRP or less. We've been selling our Shelby GT's for MSRP and our California Specials for less than MSRP. I suspect we'll sell our 2008.5 Bullitts for MSRP (or maybe even less).

The only car we sell over MSRP is the GT500, and only because the demand far exceeds the supply.

I'm sure some dealers will try to markup Bullitts, but I don't see that as the right price considering the lackluster response this car is getting so far.

Just my 2 cents.

You are a good man and the exception, not the rule.

Thank you for the praise. However, it's our dealership's owner who sets the pricing (not me) and he has been quite generous to customers over the years. We're a family owned and operated Ford franchise in a small city, but we're consistently a top-10 volume dealer out of the 150+ dealers in our region (currently 8th year-to-date).

We're also one of just a handful of one-price Ford dealers in the nation (no-haggle, no-dicker, whatever you want to call it), so we price everything very competitively and then hold tight to that price with no negotiations available. This keeps the pricing fair, and nobody is taken advantage of, while everyone gets a great deal. More than 2/3 of our customers who've answered Ford's surveys tell Ford that was the biggest reason they bought from us. Way more than 90% of those surveyed tell Ford they'd buy from us again and recommend us to others, so it obviously pays to take good care of customers.

I wish Ford simply offered Highland green paint on ALL Mustang models... so those of us who don't want to dish out $35,000 can just build our own Bullitt lookalikes.

I could go for that. It would also be nice if Ford offered a simpler Bullitt package. Say Highland Green paint, black interior, pony on grille delete, fog lamps delete, GT emblems delete, spoiler delete, distinctive faux gas cap, distinctive wheels.

OK, 226 Embarcadero was the address of the hotel where the fake Ross stayed.

Sounds a lot like what Car-Max does. They set the price and it's usually pretty competitive. Obviously probably not the best deal that you could find, but it's far from the worst and it is SO worth paying maybe an extra 1-2k or maybe a little more if you don't have to go through all the BS haggling to get a car.
