How Do You Use Cleco Fasteners

Hi Guys

Need your help with how to use Cleco Fasteners ?

I believe that I need a special type of wrench to install the fasteners.

If you'd be so kind as to give me any and all info and if you could include pictures that would be GREAT

I was told that I could get a perfect butt joint if I use these fasteners.

By first over-lapping two pieces of sheet metal about an inch or so and then install the Cleco Fasteners.
Now I'm to draw a center line down the middle of the over-lapping joint just under the Cleco Fasteners of which I will have a perfect butt joint.

there is a plier for taking the spring tension off of clecos... the tool grips the cleco around the body, and pushes down on the center pin. also, there are two different types of clecos... one for holding two pieces overlapped (you need a 1/8" hole drilled through the two) and another type that has a set of jaws, where you have access to the edges of the panels to be joined.the set ive had for many years was like 20 clecos for a 1/8hole, and a set of pliers from a swap meet. from your explanation, you will use the clecos for a rough fit, then use another tool kind of related to the cleco to clamp the pieces together. eastwood sells the second tool,im pretty sure, and it need no special tools, as it uses a wingnut to tighten it down...

My dad's clecos just have a little wingnut on top. I don't need any special tools (other than a drill with the correct sized bit) to use them.

heres what they look like
