roush vs saleen

Given the Saleen was 300lbs lighter I would figure it would have been no contest. Also, the saleen did much better in the slalom, so I think the driver might just have been a better fit for the roush, different drivers do better with different setups.

Not only was it lighter, it was also significantly more powerful. You would think that would give it the edge in acceleration and top end, but maybe it has something to do with how the cars are geared?

The roush was a full 2 seconds faster than the gt500 round the top gear test track with the stig behind the wheel of both cars. Id take a sterling saleen or 281E over any roush or gt500 (excluding the kr...for now)

There is no way the Saleen came in at under 3400lbs. The base S281 is 200lbs more than a regular GT.
No when it comes to choice, the roush looks so much better, I can't stand the rear end of the Saleen. However, if we include the H302/PJ, those are the best looking stangs on the market, including GT500 IMO

I'll take a 427R over any Saleen any day. SC car WITH a warranty. Heck yes! How is Saleen's suspension better? Didn't the Roush walk all over the Saleen on the open track.

I never said Saleen's suspension package was better, but judging from how it did better in the slalom my guess would be that it is.

Also, the Saleen comes with a supercharger from the factory, too. And it also has warranty. Granted, the saleen is a bit more expensive. Either way, I love the look of the saleens...especially the back of them.

Aint' Real World Data a B......

How many cones were on the last road course you were on?

I think the given another run, he would have beat the Saleen in the cones once he understood the HP to Weight ratio the 427 had...like he said, it was a "buckin Bronco" (lots of Horses wanting to run!).

It's not like the Roush has drag radials or anything... And the way it just pulled away from the Saleen on the straightaway on the road course is insane.

Yeah, I was trippin on that too. Where they showed the diagram of the course with the two dots and the roush just walked away like a champ, and with the saleen having 20's you would think the tires would grip the road better.
