i like my tach bracket from UPR.

I had mine on the A-pillar and got one of the UPR brackets as well. The bracket is a little "shaky" but I like the placement and no holes you can see. I am/was happy with both places. I just wanted a change.

I am wanting to get one of those autometer guage panels that replace the WHOLE cluster...the ones that have holes for autometer guages not just the overlay/stock style thing.

My speedo is way off, my tach is...well a factory tach. the oil press and water temp are undone (have a oil press and water temp guage on the piller now), with the fuel and amp guage the only thing that works.

I made up a plate that fit in the clock recess in the dash and put it right there. It made it nice when I would run in the left lane at the drags, but kind of a pain to run in the right lane (looking the other way at the tree and hoping to hold launch rpm... lol). Just curious, how much does the UPR bracket cost? And how does it mount to the dash?

The bracket mounts to a screw hole behind the center trim that goes around the AC/radio stuff. IIRC you have to put one hole in yourself and you use an existing hole for the 2nd screw. The trim panel covers up the mounting and it is a fairly clean looking install. If you remove it the trim piece covers up anything so it is totaly not noticable if you remove it.

Mines' wedged between the dash on the A-pillar and there's a small piece of double sided tape keeping it from moving (doesn't move at all)...

Your guage setup is exactly what I want to do. How big of a PITA was it to setup the speedo to get it accurage and any issues with the fuel level setup? I see you did what I was thinking about doing for blinkers/warning lights. Was there any "legal" issues with inspections for street use since it is not a stock speedo and the warning lights are not ID-10-T lights.

My personal problem is I do not know if I want to go with the single 5in with a speedo or the 2 3in and get a new tach. I must say seeing the single 5in speedo looks really sharp :nice:.

Here is mine. BTW, I don't have those gauges above the radio anymore, I finally forked over the $65 for that piece of crap bezel that goes around the factory gauge cluster. The gauge studs are too long and hit the clear cover for the factory gauges. I had to cut the stud on the back of my $200 auto meter gauges to get them to fit properly . I also have my HVAC controls back up where they are suppose to be. I will tell you one thing, you WILL NOT miss the shift light come on with it there, that is for sure.

Wiring it was the hardest part. Notice the blood stained paper towel above to the left...

You set the speedo by driving at a steady speed for a measured distance and it automatically calibrates. Really easy, and it's pretty accurate too. The fuel level gauge uses the same ohm resistance as the stock gauge, so it's a direct swap. Just use the stock sending wire as the new gauge's signal.

I don't know how legal it is as I take my car to a friend and he just puts the stickers on. I held onto my stock cluster to prove mileage and brought it with when I got my inspection.

wow..i really like that setup..how did you mount your tach?

I positioned the tach where I wanted it, marked the bracket's position on the a-pillar (both vertically and horizontally), pulled it all out of the car and reposition the bracket on the a-pillar and matched it to the marking I made (it will not follow the contour of the a-pillar because if you do, your tach will be pointing toward the roof), used self tapping screws and screwed the bracket to the a-pillar, and mounting the tach and shift light to the bracket.

I positioned the tach before marking it so that it rested on the dash so that the weight is not on the screws but on the dash. The screws pretty much just hold it in place. It has been like that for about 3 years and the screws are still as tight as the day I put them in. I have seen people mount them with the weight of the tach and bracket on the screws and it pulled loose in no time.

Thanks 95strokerPSU :nice:.

It does not look too bad. worse case I will just make a quik plug in type connector to undo the aftermarket one and swap out to the stock cluster for inspection...I should be able to find someone local to pass me if it does get to be an issue as it would be the only issue I would have. Great to hear the fuel level is a direct swap.

Did you have to buy the speedo gear adaptor thing from auto meter or were you able to use your stock one?
