Thanks, so is this quarter mile racing?

Yes, full 1/4 mile racing on the finest drag strip in the state. Pacific Raceways used to be known as Seattle International Raceways. Looks like you're in Lynden? If so, take I-5 south to exit 142A (highway 18). Follow highway 18 for roughly 5 miles to the 304th/312th street exit (there will be signs pointing to the track).

Gates open at 8am, and racing starts at 9am. $30 to race, I believe, and $10 more for your competition # (you only have to buy the comp # once per season on the first day you race).

The weather is looking to be absolutely perfect for drag racing tomorrow!!!

Today (the 18'th) SUCKED!!!! Got to Pacific at 830 and paid my $30 entry fee, and staged in the line, and waited.......and waited..........and .........w....a....i...t...e..d. until nearly 1200 for the first engine to be fired. There wansn't any rain, the sun was out, but they didn't even START to prep the track until like 1100!!!!!!!! It Could have/Should have been race ready at 900 like they say it will be. There was literally NO reason that it couldn't have been, if they had begun preparing earlier than they did. Got one run in at about 1230, then waited for the bikes, Jr drags, and big boys, then OOPS an oil down. Nuther hour without a sound of an engine. Great. It is now nearly 300 and I have run once. (remember I got here early.) Got a second run in around 330 and scurried back for one last run about 5 minutes before the door shut at 500. Granted there were a bunch of cars, but all of us could have gotten twice as many races in if the track was ready at 900 AM like they advertise it to be. I really hate Pacific. Bremerton is sooooo much better. Never wait at Bremerton.
The good part of today was I ran a 15 flat with my basicaly stock (N/A) 2005 4.0 mustang, and it pleased me much. Hope to see 14's next year with a new posi rear end and some 3.73 gears. Should be fun, just not at Pacific if I can help it.
Enjoy tommorow guys. If it doesn't rain, you might get a race or two in. Good luck.

Hi Bill, met you yesterday at the end of the day.

They had to dry the track. I made one pass all day. Today should be better because they have no rain puddles to dry, but it all depends on the crowd size. The 250 cars in attendance on Saturday meant long waits. PR just put all the cars together -no separate lanes for cars running slicks, etc.

If they had started to dry the track before 900 when everyone was lined up, maybe it would have been dry by nine? Hope your Sunday went well. Sorry to see you only got one pass in on Sat. I guess I should count my stars that I made three right! I drove straight from the end of the track to the shortest line possible every time, and it worked out for me. I know alot of people only got one pass on Saturday. Doesn't seem worth it for thirty bucks.. At least I got to make three ten dollar passes! :rlaugh: Over all I was quite happy with the day, I guess I should have mentioned that in my first post, it wasn't ALL bad. I got to find out how quick my car was, and I have a great starting point to start nibbling away at. I was faster and quicker on my first run than the girl from my work that came with a ford lightning pickup. She promptly spanked my time and mph on her second run, but hey, can't win em all right:p
(Her 500 hp over my 220 maybe) Good times
Bill.

Bill, you and I spoke briefly Saturday at Pacific Raceways. Nice meeting you. Your red V6 looks great!!! My '07 GT is the alloy gray coupe with the Vortech supercharger (and no rear wing on the car)...

I, too, am frustrated by the super late start. I only got two runs in all day. A 12.34 @ 111+ and a 12.33 @ 110+ (both were best ever runs for my '07 GT so I'm happy, even though I only got 2 runs).

I raced at Bremerton last month and got in 11 runs in 2 hours. Far fewer cars, and much more streamlined for getting cars down the track, IMO.

Sunday was everything Saturday was not. Sunday was uncrowded, they divided the racers, there were some 7 second cars to watch, they started earlier, and the weather was better. We got two days of racing in October; that's always good!

Glad to hear you got one good day John. So how did you run? I know you were trying a few new things.

No personal best, but using a friend's Pro Systems carb, I was very consistent running between 10.82 and 10.88 on four straight passes. I could have improved my times by rejetting, since the carb was really rich, but I learned how a well prepped carb can help consistency.

Yeah Brian, I remeber meeting you too, I asked you about your hood pins and the "pony package" on your GT:nice: I hope to get out to Bremerton next year so I too can get 11 runs in 2 hrs. Hopefully with my vortech installed, and running mid 13's. We'll see. Time and money......... Wish i had lots more of both.

sounds like typical pacific raceways to me,im done going there. 6 times this season, which is all i went,i got left at the line with 1-2 passes,i would be 6 cars back and they would shut it down at 8pm with over 100 cars & clear skys.this has happined to a few friends, were done at pacific, next season im gonna start to go to bremerton, even though its a lot farther, that is if i decide to continue drag racing at all pacific kind of ruined it for me this season:nonono:

Can't wait to see your 4.0L sporting that Vortech! I can refer you to one heckuva deal for the Vortech kit at an awesome price way below retail.

I forgot to mention that my factory wheels are 18" wheels, just like you have on your Torch Red. The fanblades are my favorite factory wheel, but I use the smaller/lighter 17" bullitts for race days. Here's my 07 GT with the fanblades on...
