Car Surging?

The car runs ok while accelerating but when I start to brake the voltage gauge goes down, untill I hit the gas again. If Im at idle the cars volt. gauge will be down again and the car will start to kinda jump/ lope like it has a cam in it....but once I pull it out of gear and and give it gas or accelerate volts go back up and problem ceases. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your alternator might be going out.

just had it checked...Came back good

I too think that it is alternator.
