For me the driver side header went right in, and for the passenger side one you will need to lift the engine a little bit to slide the header down. As for the smog pump tube I would either cut it off or weld it or just crimp it really good.

Years ago, when I put my Mac's on, there was no way they were going in without lifting the motor. When the motor is lifted up some, you can also tilt it a little or push it to either side of the engine bay some for more clearance. If your motor mounts are not very new, I would suggest spraying them with some penetrating oil ahead of time. A torch may come in handy also.

If you need to, you can remove the dipstick tube. I think there's a bracket that bolts to the head or something, but then it just pulls right out of the oil pan.

You may have to extend the wires for the oxygen sensors. I think I bought a prewired kit somewhere when I did mine.

Ive used a heater core cap and hose clamp on the mid pipe.

Good trick for the drivers side is to remove the steering column, and seperate it at the slip fitting above the isolator. This way you can install the lower portion once the headers are in, then slide the upper through the header and into it. Remember that the lower portion only fits together with the lower portion, so make sure you bolt up the lower portion correctly.

Thanks for th tips guys, i got them on. it seemed like it was never gonna fit at first but then i jacked the motor up and they went right in. they look great( only for a while since they are chrome) but they sound great. Right now i have them hooked to a BBK off road X and Pypes violator catback with turndown tips. I ordered Mac Pro Dumps and shoudl be here tomarrow... I'll see how i llike them but i was thinking of doing something a little different. I was going to get parts from the parts store i work at to do this. I was thikning i would cut the turn down tips of and set it up so that i would have a pipe aiming toward the rear wheel. then i would split it into two pipes. In the end there would be two chrome or stainless steel tips coming out in front of each rear tire? anybody done anything like this or think it would be a good or bad idea? wouldn't mind some advice thanks guys.

I dont think that would look good at all to tell you the truth, if it was me i'd either stick with the dumps, or get a set of lx tailpipes, the pipes are going to be borderline dragging on the ground if they exit the side

yea you're probably right... i know bassani has a side exit system for the GT but i guess it would be the same with that, i'll probably just stick with the dumps or if i dont like them il put my pypes cat back on. the only thing i dont like about that is that the tips push on my bumper and cracked it it looks so Sheety now...
