Gauges Maxing out at Startup

Last time I fired up the GT, the speedo & RPM gauges both maxed out, went to zero, then went to actual reading.

I have started it up since then, and all was normal again.

What is going on here?

That happens if you reset the computer by unhooking the battery for a set number of minutes. Why it randomly happened to you I do not know.

I read this may also be due to a dying battery. The wierd thing is I just recharged the battery (trickle) about 3 weeks ago.

I will double check the cables at the battery

Mine does it if my battery is low or one of the terminals is loose or something.

The batteries cold start abilities are starting to go down the toilet. I am guessing it is probably kind of old, or you have something that has a substantial draw on it, like a sound system.. etc.

Go buy a new one before you resort to daily jumps and hoping it will start. I would bet that the car feels as though it starts faster as soon as you replace it.

This sounds right on the money to me. Its a warning when the gauges do that to let you know to replace the battery. The other gauges should be doing it as well, oil, fuel, temp, ect.

ditto.. It was an earlier indicator my batt was dieing. Had to change it a few weeks later
