Official Adam95gt Pictorial Progress of Swap / Clean Up

Header test fitting needed to beat in the floor boards a bit... im also close on the clutch fork... but shouldn't have problems... i need to dent the header where it touches the ear on the bellhousing where the clutch cable goes through however.

Anyone have any ideas about my header problem... already dented the nell out of them... still touch the starter area and the coevr on the clutch fork.... damn my 3/4'' raised exhaust ports...

It would be a little work but the way I would do it would be to hook the cherry picker back up to the engine lift the engine up some and cut off 3/4 of an inch off of your tubular k member. That way your k member will be 3/4 of an inch lower. I have the 5.0 motor with the BBK long tubes and it clears perfectly. This will give you back your floor clearance from the headers but I don't know how you would work getting it to clear the starter and the clutch cable. The only way I know that would work is to get some shortys.

Even if you cut the mounts or the k member you are still going to have the problem of the headers getting into the starter area and close to the bellhousing where the clutch cable goes. Those exhaust ports being raised kinda screwed the normal long tube setup.

thats why you need special headers for the highport heads. thats kind of a no brainer to me. i hope you were expecting clearance problems with your setup

Try to find headers that will fit the following:

94-95 mustang
Trick flow High Port Heads (note standard bolt set up not like current high ports)

All the high port headers are made for the offset pattern (new style) and for foxes neither of which would fit my car.

Sucks... lol

It ticks me off that Ford saw fit to only produce this car for 2 years. I mean hell, this car is responible for saving the Mustang brand! Don't you think the aftermarket world owes these cars a debt of gratitude for keeping the Mustang alive and well and making them lots of money! The least they can do is make some damn headers for them that'll fit hi-port heads! Jeez!!

you might try Holcomb Motorsports Inc. for headers or kooks but your gonna pay for it. if it were me i would sell ur highports and get a set that better match your combo and work with the headers you have.

i know you are on a budget and i can tell by your build sheet which is fine, we are all on a budget at this point including me. the money you are saving on the heads is gonna cost you for the headers. i bet you will not get those headers to work without highly modifying them.

besides how well do the ports match up?

ports are fine.... just gotta find the time for some grinding, cutting, and welding.... ill make them work... im not scared to cut something apart...

and kooks does not carry the headers i need... i would need a custom set... which i intend on making... i have no intention of selling a set of heads over header fitmemt issues.... i plan on fi or more cubes in the future anyway these heads give me room to grow...
