I have 94 GT Conv, the drivers side lock does not operate when using the door button, every now and then the lock knobs will move a little bit like it is trying to work, sometimes it will make a humming type noise. The funny thing is the remote transmitter operates both doors with no problems. It doesn't hesitate or anything, no noises, etc. So I am thinking it would have to be in the switch itself or the wiring, does this sound correct. If it were the actuators/solenoid the remote wouldn't work either right??

my passenger window control switch (on my drivers side) stopped working, i gave it a little hit with my palm, then it worked. took the door handle/bezel off and noticed that the wiring was loose, put a bit of solder in there and its been good to go.
so yes loose wires is more likely your problem.
