Header Problem/Smog issue for 95

Ok here goes. I just got back from college and was really excited to get home because I had not driven my car in about 2 years. The first thing I did was take it to a smog shop because its well overdue on registration and what not. The car has never had any issues with passing until today. When I took it to get smoged the guy wouldnt do it because he said something about my headers EO number expiring (CARB # D - 216 - 11?). They are JBA headers that were put on about 12 or so years ago so i think this is crap.

How do I get around this without having to change out my headers? This is a pretty serious issue because im about 50g's in debt from college and dont need the added stress of California addmissions costing me more than it should.

Also...the headers on my car passed for the 86-94 years but not 95 WTF......

ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. :(

My ideas...
1. Go to every smog shop to see if one doesn't notice?
2. Somehow alter the number on the headers so they are legal?

Idk.... PLEASE HELP. Thanks in advance

Gotta love those California emissions :)

Do the headers have the provision for the EGR?

I would think as long as the EGR hook-up is there, the CARB# wouldn't be a big deal. That is, as long as you are running cats and such.

Try another shop and see what they say. If you alter the number, it will look as if you are trying to hide something...

never heard of the E.O # expiring.
i read that the BBK catted h-x pipes are no longer legal for sale in cali, maybe something similar is going on with the JBA headers:shrug:
call JBA and ask if they are still cali legal.
also might want to take it too a differant shop, the guy may not be familiar with performance parts.

let us know how it turns out

Guy is an idiot take it to a different smog station I live in California and I never have had an issue smogging the cobra with the mac headers as long as all the smog equipment is hooked up they shouldnt care if it has headers thats what I was told by a smog guy.

Thanks for the help guys. I visited over 10 smog shops and finally found one that got lazy and didnt check the EO number on the headers. I passed! I have never been so worried before hah.

You must have a bunch of anal shops up there. Here in SoCal I've never been asked for an EO number EVER. But I've had a guy give me crap for painting STOCK PARTS, I had to argue with him for a while before he finally put the car on the rollers.
