..Oil pump failed **UPDATE..NEW 331 COMBO**

Long story short, I let my car war up and after about 5 min of idle i noticed i had no oil pressure. I noticed slight lifter clacking and thats when i noticed the oil pressure.

I checked the gauge and it was working. I even unscrewed the supercharger oil feed line then started the motor back up for a couple of seconds and agian, no oil....:mad:

Im guessing the oil pump failed and i dont care to trouble shoot it, i have been wanting to build it anyways so thats what im going to do.

since i have a stock block and 10lbs of boost, a new, stronger block is needed.:nice:

I just dont see the sense in re-building or replacing the oil pump in a block that will probably split soon anyways.:shrug:

my plan was to go all out. I have been anticipating this and have money to put into it.:)

Im planning on getting new tranny, probably Gforce, and a new block with all new forged internals.

i want to put a dart sportsman block in there but have not decided what internals to get. i will be increasing boost by getting a T-trim so im prepared to spend what ever i need to to make it bullet proof. My HP goal is about 550, with comparable torque.

let me hear some of you thoughts and experiences!!

thanks guys,:nice::nice:

talk to rick he will help you out, thats what I would do. You want someone to build the engine with your end goal in mind, that has done many of them. I had mine built by a NMRA guy and i have never had a problem and they are not so expensive like buying a long block from off someone's "shelf"

good luck,

probably snapped the oil pump drive shaft, as for that g-force tranny my little brother has one in his stang and I can tell you the thing whines really hard with those straight cut gears, and shifting sounds like someone threw a engine block out the window. That tranny is heavy duty.
