Pictured here is one of our most recent project cars we developed for a war hero that lives in Texas: 2006 Mustang GT that we finished and dyno'd before SEMA. The car has a Granatelli Motor sports Aluminum 5.0 Stroker engine with Granatelli stage 3 heads. At 11lbs of boost and California 91 octane fuel the car made 546RWHP. The car has a Paxton Novi 2200 with an Air to Air intercooler. The customer picked up the car from GMS drove it to SEMA then drove from SEMA all the way back to Texas. As he likes to say this baby ain’t no trailer queen! Other mod's included Granatelli Long Tube headers with Granatelli 3 inch full exhaust, as well as the Granatelli 1G for 2G’s suspension package.



Granatelli has long offered complete turn key cars for the local customers, focusing primarily on the parts business and not so much on retail customers. After seeing and reading about so many shops that built just that “trailer queens” as defined as car that look good and run good for a few minutes but can’t really survive the day to day street use GMS decided it was time to make things right. J.R., the owner, is quick to say there are a lot of good shops through out the country that do great work and one would think that Southern California should have a few but based on the amount of repair and service work we do weekly just fixing the simple stuff performed by the so called local experts has proven to be an almost full time job. We just want people to know we are here and ready to help – no job too big or small

Sorry, but due to the experience I have with Granatelli in the past, I wouldn't trust them to wash my windows, much less build me an engine.

I am sure that was before i got here and before we were under new managment, so why dont we keep the bashing to a minimum and can you PM me you bad experience so we can discuss it further. thanks
 
Hope it runs better then my brothers Granatelli K member fits.. It cant even get alined its so far off. If that building was on fire, i wouldnt piss on it.



Well the customer drove it from here to vegas and back, and then to texas, so i would say it is running fine. did your brother get the K member directly from GMS, and did he try and exchange it when it didnt fit? please let me know i would like the feed back. thanks.
 
Two things.

It would be interesting to see how that setup would run with a C&L replacement intake manifold, whipple single blade and a good tune. I bet you can pick up quite a few horses that way.


Second thing... is it just me or that hand paint on the radiator cover reminds me of something I have seen in some anatomy book somewhere? :shrug:

The hand painting was done by the customer in Texas, as for the intake and throttle body i would agree, as for the Tune i think the tune is spot on, i have built 6 different mustangs for my personal car's and the tuner here by far does the best job. in my own opinion.:nice:
 
Right, I mean you'd need a new tune based on the increased airflow from the intake and the new throttle blade or you'll probably lean out the AFR.

That's a setup I had contemplated for a while.

I agree, and I think that setup would make great power and be more efficient. It would be intresting to see what the gains are just from that combo. I smell new project.:nice:

It would be nice to see what that intake alone and then with the single blade throttle do to an otherwise stock car. IIRC the C&L website posted dyno results on different cars some with exhaust some without it which ok but not the same thing as pulling numbers from the same car.
