hi, I just bought a 1994 v6 mustang with an automatic tranny. I would like to get it up to 200hp. Does anyone have any ideas about how much this would cost and what mods I would have to do? Thanks, unraw

i imagine you are talking rwhp. So with that said, you could port the heads, bigger valves, port the intakes, and cam. That should get you but 170hp at the wheels. Either route you go you will need a dyno tune and i would def recommend bigger injectors.
if you want constant power then go with the heads and slowly build the motor. Nitrous is fun, but refilling the bottle gets expensive in the long run. You could always just get a supercharger, i saw a procharger for sale somewhere for a good price. Running low boost you could get 200rwhp on a stock motor.

here is the link to the procharger. Its a good price. Yeah you are gonna need a fuel pump as well.
sorry but a tb is a waste of money at those power levels. Unless you are moderate boost levels the stock tb is fine. Im still running a 56mm tb, thats with 20psi and about 500hp. The tb and upper intake is the restrictions right now and is being addressed in the spring.

The reason I suggested spray, and bolt ons is because
1. He mentions a cost concern
2. The motor work you mentioned is a good amount of money to put in and end up with 170hp. Seems like overkill for a v6 IMO

split port swap then! gain 40 hp right there. Can be had from a jy. Then depending on dyno charges, Im sure he realizes at this point that no matter what way he goes that to get 80hp extra at the wheels is gonna be expensive.
I dont think its over kill for a v6 at all. Ive got a 61mm turbo on my car and plan on goin up to a 72mm this spring, with a sheet metal upper and 65mm tb. Ill be 500hp no prob on 15psi. I started with a stock single port years ago. One mod leads to another. Sometimes its better to come up with a plan so you know what you need to get and work from there.

I was thinking more like 200hp at the crank. Sorry for not explaining myself better. The mods that I am thinking of doing to this car are: CAI, dual exhaust, 3.73 gears, and maybe a tuner. I don't have the money for any mods right now I'm just trying to set a plan for what I want to do with this car. It will be my daily driver. I want decent power with decent fuel economy.
