Just for conversation sake, what current new cars that are 6 or 4 bangers are faster than us? Is there any site that has the stats? Technology on the smaller engines being what it is, I was just curious. I'm not actually into racing anybody. Thanks in advance.

Edited to say the cars that are on our roads...not the Porche 911's and such.

well , V6 Toyota Aurion is pretty fast for what it is , V6 Nissan Altima are slightly slower than a 99-04 stock GT , the new eclipes and those little genesis coupes can surprise you at times , if you are stock that is , saw a bolt on V6 Gen Coupe take an exhaust and cai C5 one time , that was rather interesting to see so i know for sure they can whoop few stockish GTs.

My friend had one of the girliest cars ever it was one of those new vw gti, but did it suprise us big time that thing would move, using the triptronic or whatever that thing would probably be as fast as my 99 fairly stock.

yea same with mine its 10 years old and has 113k on it and its probably just a little bit faster then the gti's but they were suprising little cars

There are so many cars that are close that it isn't even funny. It completely depends on the drivers and their starts. I've run dead even with POS 4cyl beaters and with new GTO's which should hand me my a$$ on a plate. This is especially true if you are talking about a race to 60mph or less. So don't assume you can beat anyone until you actually run. Any car with quarter mile times within about 1 second of eachother can make for a close race on the street.

Alot if you include Turbo cars. Seeing as to how you have an 03GT and not the 01SVT that I always thought you had:bang: Your car should have came with 260hp from the factory.

STi=300 hp
Evo=276
Supra=320hp
etc. Not that horsepower is everything but alot of those imports are usually lighter. If you're referring to NA cars I know the Elise runs 12s with it's lil booger 1.8 liter.:nono:

I'm not planning on racing anyone, it's just funny when people ask if it's fast and I'm kind of tempted to tell them that it's only marginally faster than their new Mazda 4 door.:eek:

Power ratings aregarbage and hardly ever translate how a car truly performs. There are a lot of cars out their with advertised power rating similar to 99-04 GT's yet they consistently 1-3 seconds slower.

The 370Z is much faster than a PI 2v mustang.

Guys are going low 12's at 104-107mph out of the showroom. Motortrend only got a 13.3 at 105.7mph

Speaking of those pesky little GTIs...I had an 07 GTI that ran a 13.5@104 with just a $545 tune. That car was a little rocket but it was definately a freak. When I posted my slips from mid 13s on VWVortex they all flipped **** and didn't believe me and I had to prove it. I was so pissed I made this video:
YouTube - srsly

Heres my first run at the track after my tune lol
YouTube - In Car, MKV GTI 1/4 13.87

Aw it's she cute?

PS: I like my Mustang more but I miss this car SOO much! It was all problems after I started tweaking it though. I blew my pcv valve at the track and the computer cut all my power one time and I still ran a 14.1@73. The funniest run I had though was probably when it ran a 13.6@104 with a 2.5 60' nose diving all the way down the track cause the fuel pump couldnt keep up lol.
