Kind of a dumb questions as I think I already know the answer, but I wanna make sure. Do I still need to fabricate a firewall in my coupe behind my rear seats (the factory fiberboard one is deteriorated) if I'm gonna have a blow down tube exiting the car? I think I do, but I thought I'd verify with those that are more fimiliar that I am on the rules. Thanks

this is how ive always been told-

the blowdown tube is needed for vehicles that dont have a seperation between the cabin and the bottle ( a hatchback for example)
It isnt needed in coupes

but if you say yours is falling apart, the blowdown tube should be sufficient for tech inspection

If you have a blowdown tube then you do not need a firewall.

If you do not have a blowdown tube then you need a firewall, even in a coupe. NHRA does not consider the fiberboard or rear seat back a firewall. At most tracks around here you can get away with out having a blowdown tube if the bottle is in the trunk with no firewall but if they want to be sticklers they can fail you during tech.
