Im just glad everyone is alright that was my main concern. As far as the car absolutely none of the sheet metal was hit, which i was surprise because i was hit at about 40 mph. The only real noticeable damage is the bumper, wiring harness for the side marker lights, muffler hanger, and right side muffler. Ill find out more when I can get the police report to give to my insurance company, unfortunitly when you get in an accident on the NJ Turnpike you gotta wait for you police report. Oh and you gotta pay for it haha. So ill be driving it around like this for a bit until everything gets settled because im not using my insurance to fix it. Was the other guys fault so he can pay for everything.

Look at it this way... first and foremost everyone is ok

Second thing you now have an excuse to upgrade (if you like) the looks of your car to a GT, CS or GT500.

I definitely want to upgrade to a GT or GT500/CS bumper :nice:, but that's gunna depend on how much if anything I get from the other guys insurance. I hope they'll cover my exhaust too even though it's aftermarket. We'll find out in about a week or so.

You could always go to the dealership and get one of those arm/leg appraisals and turn around and buy a rear bumper for New Takeoff and pocket the rest for whatever :)

Hey guys just a little update. I brought my car to the shop yesterday and the other guys insurance is paying for everything. It's gunna end up costing around $2700 to get my car back the way it was before the accident. I also opted for the GT bumper and the body shop told me it wouldnt be a problem, its only a $75 difference that I have to pay for it, and they are replacing my entire Pypes exhaust. Im glad I added the exhaust upgrade to my policy otherwise I would have been SOL. I should have my car back in about a week. Im happy to say this all turned out pretty good so far without any problems. :nice:

Huh? If the other guy's insurance is paying for it what difference does it make if the exhaust is on your policy or not?? If he damaged it he (his insurance) has to pay to make it like it was before the accident.

Thats what I told the adjuster at first, and he gave me a weird look. Then I mentioned I have the exhaust put on under modifications on my policy, then all of a sudden his weird look went away and he said "oh ok". So I dunno if it would have been covered otherwise.

That should never be a question. If you had your bumpers chrome dipped that should be paid for by this other guy's insurance. You paid for something to be a certain way and if someone else f's it up they have to pay to put it back exactly the way it was.

Now, if you did it your self, that's a different story.

So I got her back today from the shop. All new exhaust, and GT500/GT CS bumper cover. I asked the shop for just a GT bumper instead of putting another V6 bumper on and I'd pay the difference. I go to pick her up today and I'm pleasantly surprised to see a GT500/GT CS bumper on my car, and best of all I wasn't charged a dime either :nice:

Jerry's Auto Body in Jackson NJ did the work and I think they did a fantastic job, I would def recommend them and will absolutely be going back to them again if I ever need something painted.
