Ok so i am in the process of building my 74 302 for my 93 lx. I have bored the block 30 over and turned crank. Bought eddy RPM intake and cam. I also have a set of freshly ported gt40ps with performance springs and stock valves and stock rockers. I just need some advice on timing chain, push rods, and if stock rockers are ok to use. Edelbrock says this cam need there timing chain and studs and guideplates?

I would appreciate any help bc this is my very first engine build on my own and valve train is kind of over my head.

BTW the cam is the eddy RPM #7122 Thanks

I think it is good to purchase the chain that is sold to me by my friend. I think it is compatible in your building process of 74. I want to keep in touch on you if you are interested. :D

thats wat im running now the edel 7122 cam with a torker 289 which is an older intake but ive found out it works VERY good together. im even running stock 5.0 HO 1986 shorties with 2.5 inch dumps with glass packs 600 cfm carb with 289 heads, adjustable rockers non roller just competely factory 1966 289 heads pressed in studs adjustable nuts and it runs FANTASTICALLY i cant find anyone who i didnt smoke on or off the highway never ran it on the track but i have a 1994 2.8 5 speed from a v6 mustang which is a little lower geared in 1st and 2nd i believe and a 3.54:1 positrac with 225/50/15s i have a hard time finding people that i dont just leave seriously i have a victor jr intake which i never thought i would find a cam streetable enough for that big of an intake i think this one is... and you will want to switch to a single plane instead of dual plane intake its wat they use in nascar....

o and the numbers on the 7122 are .496 intake .520 exhaust and 290 intake duration and 300 exhaust and its very lopey, i LOVE it because its so much different than stock trucks and cars all around, you can tell right off i dont care if everything including the intake was factory but it wouldnt run very good... but the intake and cam really make a difference i have some windsor jr 180s that i need to find some good roller rockers for and slap them on my roller block with a thumpr cam thats my next project but they have lots of really good stuff in the roller section of ford cams GOOD ones with hot lifts and durations perfect for the street
