Hey yall. I'm new to the forums and new to the fox world and fuel injection at that... I'm a diesel junkie but i came across this car and really kinda fell in love with it. I just want some opinions about it. I don't have any pics of it yet but most likely will have a few pretty soon of it sitting in my driveway:D. Anyway, thanks in return for any input. -Josh

Here is his description of the car:

It is a 5 speed 306 gets up and goes, this car really is quick. I have replaced the cap and rotor, the plugs and wires, coil, starter, ignition module, valve cover gaskets, all 4 tires , fuel sending unit, fuel pump, radio, transmission, shifter, clutch cable and quadrant, throwout bearing, and aluminium radiator, besides that the previous owner has done everything else. It has a professional products intake polished, supposed 306, cold air intake with k&n filter, 24# injectors with mass airflow sensor, a/c delete, tach, temp gauge, drag shocks with the drag bag, lower control arms, 4.10's, cowl hood, white paint, black interior, pioneer speakers, cobra r rims, ford racing shorty headers, bbk h pipe to dumped flowmasters. Just swapped in a new good transmission third grinds when you put it in while over about 3500 rpm's

So the new 'good' transmission's 3rd gear syncros are shot? It sounds like the engine is pretty much stock with an intake. It being a 306 vs. a 302 isn't really a bonus, just means it was rebuilt at some point. Its hard to tell just from the description but I'd definitely be trying to knock some $ off the price because of that 3rd gear grind.

This is just me, but i call BS on ANYONE who is trying to sell me a Mustang with a "306". I don't care if he's an engine builder with a build sheet in his hand. I call BS on all 306's because it's way too easy to lie and say it's .030 over. Ask him what brand and what CC the pistons in it are and see if he has to pull an answer out of his ass. He even says later in the description "supposed 306"...that just means a guy told a guy who told a guy who told this guy who knows nothing at all about this engine. I F'in HATE people like that.

Well the same could be said about a stroker, I say if somone has documentation, and the car seems good, then id go for it. That car looks pretty beat, but savable and the price isnt rediculous, but i dont thing your getting a deal either. I bought a car last year that was much cleaner, for 1900 bucks. If you buy it, i hope its not gonna be your DD, cause thats a project car.

Id offer him 1500 bucks and start the bargaining from there, i wouldnt pay more than 1750 for that thing personally.

those look like summit valve covers, they dont have any holes in them, so you can drill the fill wherever you want it. But i dont think those are tall valve covers

Pull out a spark plug and you can measure stroke on a 347. You have any ideas on how to measure bore diameter on a 306?

I can get you documentation all day but it doesn't mean it's legit. Every backyard grease monkey mechanic out there who drives a 5.0 thinks it has more balls than any car he's ever drove and it MUST be a 306 cause a 302 just doesn't run as hard, even though it's 4 F'in cubic inches distributed over 8 F'in cylinders :nonono:

who cares about the vc's look at the crappy wiring under the hood!!! this could be a nightmare weighting to happen.. and looks to me that the drivers side door gaps here not right. it mite just be the pic. the tranny is i downer even if you can rebuild it for free because you still have to pull it and install it . not to mention what the clutch may look like. i would also ask 1500 but i wouldnt pay over 1700. theres to much stuff to do by the looks of it.
the paint looks in poor health ,the engine bay wiring is jacked-up, the interior doesnt look that good either.dont get me wrong im not downing you im downing the car. this worth 1700 at the max. those mods arent that good anyways. you can save money and buy a decent car for 2500-3000 dollars with good paint and good powertrain. if it were me i would look at all the pros and cons then make a offer.also see what it would cost to fix the things that are wrong with it, so you know what your lookin at. good luck (not a bad car just needs some love.)

my buddy is thinking if saling his 93 lx (was a 4-cyl). its not a looker but its fun to drive and its a great first fox. heres the run down on the car
1 3.55 posi
2 b@m supercharger (not sure whichone 144 142)
3 t-5
4 315's
5 e303 cam
6 fully ported e7's
7 stock headers
nothing speical just a fun car to drive. its his daily. but, if it where me it would be a toy (no a/c or powersteering :nono:)
by the way i have a b@m supercharger for sale for a sbf (not sure which either 144 or 142)

Nah, it'd be good practice. He's new to the Fox Mustang game, and any Fox guy worth his weight should be able to have his T5 out of the car and on the workbench in 30 minutes, haha.

I have a buddy who can get the trans out faster than i can get the car on jack stands...and i'm not even exaggerating :rlaugh:

Once it's up on stands, take off the shifter ball, drop the drive shaft, take out the trans to bell bolts, lay under the trans on your back and pull it out so it falls on your chest, then roll it over on the ground and viola. Then, in Haynes manual fashion, reverse disassembly to reinstall lol.
