99 Cobra with 52K miles, bought it from the second owner who bought it in 99 with 3K on it. Has a decent list of mods done to it. The little 281 pulls much harder then I expected it would. Pretty happy with it so far except the long tubes drag a bit when pulling into my shop.

Very nice I love these Cobras, I wish I had looked for one of these instead of looking at similarily priced GT's.

Btw engine pics NOw!!!:D

No kidding! I paid $10,700 for my car with 33,000 miles, with Magnaflow catted X and catback, tb/plenum, FR500 wheels, and a steeda CAI. It was basically EVERYTHING I was looking for as far as color scheme and cleanliness, and had most of the mods done to it already that I was going to spend money on anyway. It was either that or wait to find a decent Mach1/Cobra for about $17k. I still feel to this day I made the better choice but man would I like to have a 4V.

Yeah I was actually looking at Mach 1's when I stumbled upon this one. But all the ones I could find were either the wrong color, or had a ton of miles, or grossly overpriced (IMO).

It looks to me like your hood is flat black... is it just the lighting or was there some condensation???

Yeah it's condensation, I took the pics when I got off work @ 5am.

Great looking Cobra... if you can get it to hook hard it should go high 12's easy with your mods. The exhaust and gears probably woke it up pretty well.

I haven't pushed it real hard yet as I'm still getting used to the power band of the car. It feels pretty strong though, when I was test driving it the tires broke loose in 2nd when I hit about 4K rpms. :D

They come with a 32 valve, 4.6L V-8... same engine as the Mach I's but IIRC the 4V heads on the 99-01 Cobra's are slightly different than the heads on the Mach I.

BTW, there was no Cobra for 2002, instead Ford built the Cobra R in '02 w/ the 5.4L, 32 valve, V-8

N8 is correct, the Mach 1's have slightly higher compression where as the 99-01 Cobras have 9.85 compression ratio. Not really sure of the differences in the heads.
