So I want, and have wanted to buy a 93 hatchback. I love the 5.0 engine but I'm looking at the lx and gt models with the 5.0 engines and I have no idea what the difference is. I'm assuming it's a suspension difference and if so, that would be perfect because I don't want to use the stock suspension anyway, but I'm aware that I may be very wrong lol. Can somone help me out?

250 lbs? LOL no way. Maybe 100 lbs heavier than a similar LX hatch.

I bet the difference is actually less than 100 lbs the body kit weighs next to nothing the only heavy parts are the fog-light brackets/assemblies but they look so cool.

lol 250 lbs. is WAY off! the only difference between an LX hatch and GT is the ground effects which weigh MAYBE 20 lbs more than LX stuff, and like Grover said, the fog lights/bracket which weighs about 30-40 lbs.

the hatch on hatchbacks have decent weight to them though, weighing in around 60-75 lbs. with the glass. a coupe trunk weighs around 15-20 lbs.

so the difference between a GT and an LX coupe is around 90-120 lbs.

Like everyone has said, the LX is just a tad lighter. Maybe 100 lbs. Im not sure, but wasnt the GT the only model with quad shocks in the rear? I could be wrong but I think its the only model. It really is all what style you like better. I prefer the GT simply because of the front bumper and fog lights. I dont like the gt rear bumper and the turn down exhasut tips, but my gt has a Cobra rear bumper anyways.

All the LX's I had had them too.

Id say that the lx just looks faster. Seems smaller and lighter just looking at the two side by side. True drag racers Welcome the weight savings.

Depends on what you want to do with it. Will you lower it and auto cross, drift it, drag race it? Gt seems like it would be good to drift with and lets be honest. The auto cross and drag race would go to the lx, if you had otherwise identical cars and driver.

According to The Official Ford Mustang 5.0 Technical Reference & Performance Handbook, the weight difference between an LX hatchback and a GT hatchback is 87 pounds.

There is absolutely NO mechanical differences between the two models. Same engine, same brakes, same suspension. All of the differences are cosmetic only. Like Crane said in the first post: Which one do you think looks better? Thats the difference.
