Hello I have a Explorer 5.0 kind of a high mile motor and planning on putting in my stang to get it on the road again. I am going with a Holley 600 and looking for suggestions on a intake manifold, headers, maybe even a cam to add some power. What do you guys suggest?

I know I will need to change the oil pan to a front oil sump and change the timing cover for a dipstick tube. I was thinking of going with the serpentine set up so I would have to go with later mustang timing cover. When this is done what fuel pump?

Also before putting in the stang what kind of refreshing should I do? Not looking to rebuild just want to use this motor until I convert over to a 351 EFI I have but not ready to go that route yet?

Once again I appreciate the help. I'm also looking to get a T5, that sounds the way to go.

Thanks,
Kenny

You could stick in a stock H.O. cam since it has a little more duration along with a set of roller rockers, but if you plan on ever racing youll definitely need to replace the springs. Stock Explorer springs are barely enough for an Explorer. Any headers will work since you say you have the non-P heads. No real need to run a later model water pump, just run the old timing cover and water pump so you can keep you existing(?) accessories. You could use the stock Explorer intake too since you plan on going to EFI later on, then you could use the upper on the 351, depending how much power youre trying to make.
