I watch Chasing Classic Cars every Saturday morning at 8AM on HD Theatre. Wayne Carini sold his 1969 Mustang Boss 302 for $80K (Blue with flat black stripes) at the RM Auction in Monteray, CA. This was early 2010. The Muscle cars have come down quite a bit. Even the rare late 60's and early 70's Challengers, Cuda's, Daytona's have taken a tumble.

Like he says on the show, "Cute" or "Early" is selling right now. A mint 1950's VW Bug Convertible is "Cute" and 1902 Panhard brass car is "Early". He sold a 1966 Mustang Shelby Cobra which should have went for over $150K for $95K no reserve. That owner was pretty pissed. Wrong time right now I guess.

There is a HUGE difference between the prices of Boss 302's and Boss 429's. Like a factor of two or better. At the peak of the market, an uber lo-mile Boss 9 sold for $600,000+ on Barrett-Jackson. That same car is probably worth $250,000 in today's market. I saw a really nice 9 cross a Mecum auction this spring for $175,000.
