Well this weekend looked like the last of warm weather for awhile. Saturday I did all the POR-15 stuff and finished masking. Today I did a lot of scuffing and wax/degreasing. Then did a coat of sealer followed by base and clear coat. The pictures don't do any justice, it turned out great. I did it out in the driveway like a redneck! Surprising I didn't pick up any dirt.

Looks like a cool project. I've had my motor out of my Fox 3 times in the last 10 or so years, Feb of 2010 being the last for a new engine and combo and only did some basic clean up like pressure washing the bay and some light cleaning. The motor and acc. that went in were clean as could be so I called it a day. It's def. a lot of work.

I finally got my '93 Cobra booster to fit it, I ended up elongating the top left firewall hole. I also have been doing a lot of cleaning and installing all the firewall/support stuff.

So I was planning to run a TFS stage 1 cam, but I was looking at Comp cams and was wondering if the Xe270hr-14 would be better. I'm wanting a Vortech in the future and heard that 114 degrees is better for boost.

I figured :p Just wanted the noobs reading this to know that their $200 chrome CAI doesn't do jack schittttt. :nice:
My chrome CAI was $60 new from american muscle.

Mine didn't have the stocker when I got it though...just a worn out, scratched, dented, and rusty mac one. (sold it on craigslist for $25 LOL)

I think the chrome one goes well with my engine bay however. They do look out of place on a stock appearing engine though.

OP: nice job on the engine bay restoration. :nice: I just went through the same thing with the por 15. Ended up using por 15 on the entire bay though for good measure. It's durable stuff!

When I first bought the car, it had a old CAI tube with a huge cone filter on the MAF. I ditched it right away for the ugly CAI, but it fit like crap, had to shove it through the apron because is was too tight, and getting the filter in and out was a huge PITA. Here's another curve ball for you guys - I'll be running a paper filter. I've cleaned enough K&N filters in my quads, bikes, and cars over the years and I'm tired of it. That and my intake tube and MAF was always coated in red oil.

Thanks for all the comments, guys. Now that bay is almost done I started tearing the motor apart yesterday.
