should I buy the tail light tint from americanmuscle.com or just paint them?

Definitely paint them, the darker the better. Be sure to unplug the center high stop light as well.

I used the VHT nightshades on my third center tail light - came out great - the more passes or coats the darker it gets - don't forget the pre-tinted 'covers' work well to - if the police stop you - you can just go back there and take them off -
