Top Gear Tonight

BBC Top Gear is probably my favorite show, I can't make it through 10 minutes of the American Top Gear. They make a bad car show almost as successfully as Sons of Guns makes a bad gun show. Anyone know when the new season of Top Gear starts?

I like Top Gear America. It's not nearly as good as TGUK, but it's better than TGUK was ten years ago when they started. It's well produced, and they're pretty funny if you don't take them too seriously.

I thought it was good. Better than the reality tv chit my wife was watching in the other room...

Just to forewarn you all, the following is a madmike/Durden type post...

My wife kindly asked me recently to watch some shows she likes, because according to her we always watch shows I enjoy. The difference is I enjoy good shows, while she enjoys chitty shows.

We've watched the following through Blockbuster online:

1. Sopranos (good show for its time... now seems archaic and slow)
2. Dexter (probably one of the best shows on TV... honestly)
3. Sons of Anarchy (male soap opera, but decently entertaining)
4. Entourage (excellent show that is very easy to watch with little drama... except Johnny Drama :D)

She has enjoyed each one and for good reason. Every one of these shows has been well written and despite the terrible nature of each character the writers have done a fantastic job of displaying real emotion and experiences that everyone can relate to.

Anyways, I agreed to take her up on the challenge and watch a show that she picked. She decided to pick "Gossip Girl" and we just finished up the first season (around 15-20 45 minute episodes). I absolutely HATE IT. It's not realistic and you can't relate to the characters. It's honestly a 45 minute show about people secretly plotting against one-another. Its stressful, vindictive, mean spirited, and childish chit. The actresses aren't even very attractive, so I can't even mentally f**k them for fun :(

I now have 50+ episodes left of this madness and have spent 2x as much money on beer lately. At the end of the day, I'd love nothing more than to have the privilege of comparing TGUS to TGUK.

Funny you say that, the chit show my wife was watching last night was Gossip Girl. I refuse. F uck that noise.

I watch every car show on TV (well except Inside West Coast Customs) so even the American Top Gear is entertaining to me even if they aren't as funny as the British Top Gear guys. I'd rather watch car shows (even bad) instead of American Idol and all the other singing /dancing crap they play on TV. Velocity is my favorite channel- Chasing Classic Cars, Wheeler Dealers, American Muscle, Car Fix, All Girls Garage (Christy Lee, hmm....).

"Eric Clapton owned this Mustang". That was hysterical.

I watch top gear US but i dont know about adam, first he said the mercedes sls is ugly, the ferrari california is a girls car and he put the mustangs to shame during the muscle car past and present showdown.(the california is a bit girly looking but its still a 400hp ferrari i wish i had) lol
