Hello all I'm new to the forum. I just got my self a 1970 mustang coupe. That needs a new roof, trying to figure out where to get one that also has the pillars for the front.

But while I'm here I'll tell you a little bit about it and my self.

I'm 19 and I'm a apprentice body/paint/mechanic In middle TN

The car is a 1970 mustang coupe with a I think 80's model 351W and a C6 tranny, I payed 1200 for it the guy threw in 10" rims for the rear. 8" for the front. edelbrock intake for a 4 barrel carb and really nice carb set up for torque. Its just all round perfect car. Everything but the Roof is perfect.

so if anyone has any idea of where I can find one for cheap. other then local junk yards and such. "No one has any". I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks for reading
Jaryd.

Heres a picture :D looks bad I know, but it'll be pretty soon. I've already got paint picked out and in the shop. engines coming out soon and getting torn down and gone through making sure everything is good. and I may swap in a T5 Not sure on that yet.

Is the roof rusted through? It doesn't Look "that bad" from that picture...If you can't find one in a yard, then you are going to be paying for freight...I can get a 70 coupe like that out west for "cheap" pretty easy. Your best bet may be to find another car that has no floors, and part that one out...

it had a tree fall on it. And its be fixed up. But I don't want a Bondo roof ya know? and the pillars are almost rusted all the way gone. Me and my boss can probably fix it. He says he has a catalog somewhere that has a 70's coupe roof somewhere for around 300. But he cant find it. so Idk what to do. I don't wanna part it out. I've been wanting this car for a good 3 years. cause its just perfect. And i'm tired of seeing FB everywhere I like em but I hate that no one around here likes coupes.

LOL but this is my first muscle car and I am so looking forward to fixing it up.

But if i gotta I'll patch it up as best i can.

thanks. I cant wait to have it done. And the best part is My boss is giving me so much for the car. like the wheels carb intake he might even give me a T5 He's gonna port and polish the heads intake and stuff for me all for free. lol and he's painting it for me. candy orange. Or possibly a blue. Not really sure yet. I will start taking it apart as soon as we get another project out of the shop.

Too bad you're so far away. My friend has a 70 coupe with a very straight body on top, but rotted floors and subframe from sitting in grass. The car also has no title available so it could be had VERY CHEAP!

Yeah, but I'll bet the Subaru guys wouldn't cook ya and eat ya for mentioning a Mustang on their site!:p
