Take your car back and let the man do his thing. THE WHOLE CAR DOES NOT NEED TO BE REPAINTED!!!!!Well Folks...here's the latest in the crooked stripe saga. Although Mustang Madness Motorsports initially stated he'd "...repaint the car...", he's reneged and went back to saying he meant only paint the stripes and blend in the surrunding orange. I guess I need to find a lawyer. It's too bad, because now I'll have to wait until next year to get to drive the car!
Im just going by what I know from painting and doing bodywork everyday for years and years and there is no reason at all to repaint the entire car just to fix those stripes
How about Option "C" Let the guy fix the car and who cares how he does it as long as it looks right in the end.Duly Noted.... However, you can call me "Old Fashioned", but if I enter into an agreement, where the person providing the service fails to perform his obligations to me.... and then allowing him a chance to correct his mistakes, which have become an inconvenience to me........ Then I believe the only person who has the option of "Changing" the original deal, would be me! I understand that the poor, poor, painter will lose his arse on this job, but that's part of being in Business, (....Hopefully he win's more, then he loses.....)
Option "B"....... Have the car well documented... Take it somewhere else to have the Job performed in the fashion that was originally agreed upon..... And Sue the previous Shop for the Total Cost's involved to get it right!
Either way, the real Victim here is Glenn Ford, and the time he has lost over a Botched Job!
It says in his post 15k for body and paint .....most cars need considerable metal work...floors, rear quarters , door skins, and muct more unless they are a southern rust free car , most new england cars are rusty. It also looks by the pics that the radiator support, and engine compartment are painted to match the outside...seems pretty inexpensive to me . Regardless of price paid why would you repaint the body shell, fenders, doors , ext for the areas that he has a problem on, the ft valances , and trunk lid come off in minutes , that leaves the taillight panel , a very simple fix to repaint those items, totally not nessesary to repaint everything else ....just seems like common sense to me.

Couldn't have said it better myselfExactly !! There is no way he could take the car to another shop to get it fixed and then bill the original painter without at least giving him a chance to fix it. It's up to the "expert" to figure out how to do it, as long as the customer gets the final product he paid for.
