Who's Only Had 1 Mustang Since They Joined?

Still have the 89 Saleen I bought in 2000, it is almost completely gutted out getting ready for the roll cage the 1st week in Dec. Being turned into a dedicated drag car. I also have a 01 V-6 Mustang that serves as the DD and am in the process of closing the deal on an 08 Bullitt.

Isn't it crazy how modern V6's are producing more than our V8's did from the factory? Technology rocks. Sometimes ;)

Yea and its actually the first american v6 that sounds pretty good. I saw one at the track with a vortech on it in the high 11's, that thing was so nasty I'd rock it any day of the week, sounded amazing.

You'll like this, then.

If they quieted that down a bit, I wouldnt mind it at all. Kinda resembles a V10 exhaust note, IMO. Although I like the sound of my new 5.0 a lot, the burbling idle sure is a far cry from a lumpy pushrod idle.

Edit: Sorry, I completely went along with the hijack. I am on my 5th mustang, wish I never would have sold my first. A high school friend bought it and was hit by a moron driver which totaled it. Went to scrap, never to be seen again. :(

Ford's Modular engines sure do have their own distinct sound. Especially the Triton V10. Sounds like ass lol. But the 4.6, 5.0, and 5.4 sound excellent.
And I agree, the car in the video needs a much quieter tone.

The new V6 is no joke. I still can not believe nobody has put one in a fox. They'll be the first person to have a 30+mpg 12 second Fox. If that engine can carry the S197 to 31mpg, imagine what it can do when it's hauling around ~500lb less.

its funny you mention this I was considering doing this to a convertible either the 4.0 V6 or a small diesel engine... don't flame me I've had all sorts of weird stuff in the past and still love odd swaps and getting amazing fuel mileage

Ive had my hatch since 12/2011 but dont think ill get rid of it any time soon.

I've talked to a few people who have considered it and every one of them told me that it was just as complicated as swapping in a Coyote, and in the end they went that route instead. I can see why, but i still think the V6 is probably easier to get from a salvage yard and probably cheaper to do.

Well, I've had my baby since she arrived on the truck, covered in plastic, since November 1992. Back then she was black, and had an opal grey interior. The ticker showed only 7 miles on it when she got unloaded and we picked her up for $18032. Two grand less than the 92's on the lot.
