Looking for opinions on cam selection. I have stock short block, tfs 170 heads, trick flow street burner intake, 70 mm throttle body. The car is an 89 hatch GT with 3.91 gears, and a 5 speed. The car is not daily driven and goes to the track from time to time. Currently has an E cam. I believe their has to be a better cam. Thanks in advance for the comment.

If I remember right TFS has their stage 1 paired in the top in kit. They claim to be producing around 360hp with a similar combo. It's not earth shattering power, but it really depends on what your looking for. I would talk to Rick at RNH (Rick 91 GT). He's pretty knowlegable in this arena and might be able to guide you toward your goals. If you do pull the "E"cam let me know. I'm in Cali now and am trying to find a decent used one for another build.

Yes there ARE better cams but are any of them going to be a significant enough improvement to make it worth the time and cost involved in doing a cam swap?
If you have shorty headers, converting to long tubes could yield the same gain for much less cost/hassle.

When I pull it I'll give you jingle. Thanks for the comment.

I have long tube MAC with complete mac exhaust. I recently bought the car and the block is junk. I was wondering in anyone is running the TFS stage 2? I've been looking at the crower 222 and 228 at .050 cam, or comps XE274?
