Hey everyone, i'm looking into welding my own strut tower brace after looking into buying one and seeing how expensive they are. Has anyone ever done this? or knows the specs of brace? please let me know!

When you're talking about welding your own strut tower brace I'm assuming that you're talking about constructing something that is removable. You can't just weld bars onto the strut towers because that would make it very expensive to execute certain repairs. Depending on the location of the bars, you might have to drop the engine out of the bottom of the car just to replace the spark plugs. Steeda's web site lists an STB for $160. Between design time, material purchase, and labor (including trial and error); I am very skeptical that you could construct an STB cheaper than that. The current minimum wage is $7.25. If you worked on this thing for only 10 hours you would have invested at least $72.50, which you could have earned working anywhere instead of building this. Financially it does not really make sense. If you want to do it for the challenge and learning experience, then that may be worth your while.
