Yeah that was me, I took a few classes last year. They filmed that last summer.

That sucks Bryan, glad the damage was not to bad. I came close a few times as well this past oct to hitting a few. I hate it when it starts to get dark in Oct, there are so many deer moving around at that time.

The shop screwed up my clearcoat so they had to redo it. So that was almost 2 weeks with a rental.
Tried some latex gloves that I have been wanting to try for quite a while. Black Lightning gloves were awesome. Tough and don't rip easily like the gloves you normally get.

Travis I was at cabelas on monday. They had plenty of 5.56 and 223 ammo available. Not the cheapest but I saw a bunch of ball ammo from federal in plain brown boxes that was 8.50 for 20 rounds. The price of guns is still way up there. They had about 10 PTR91s listed around 1300+. Which is a couple hundred above PTRs website price.

On the plus side I can still get Romanian made 7.62 in a spam can shipped free to me for 169. That was from Centerfire Arms. Thats low 20 cent range per round. Cabelas had the same thing but Russian made for 189 plus tax. Dicks

Whats up with all the hoarding of ammo lately... not you guys specifically. Went with a buddy up to walmart so he could by some .22 ammo. They were sold out. the guy working the counter said that there was a line off people waiting when they opened and within an hour were completely sold out

Its been a problem since the school shooting last December. When Obama started talking about gun bans people went CRAZY. The price of guns and ammo went through the roof. People were worried that they wouldn't be able to get ANY guns and that there would be a limit on ammo purchases. Sales numbers were way up. The supply dried up. Took some time for things to cool down and even longer for supplies to start returning.
I still don't understand the disappearance and hoarding of .22 ammo but it is the most widely used ammo in the world.
From what I have heard Walmart wasn't buying much anyways because they were worried about what might happen to the price and supply. At least the price of ammo has dropped but it is still a bit high compared to the pre big scare prices.
I wasn't hoarding any. Just had a supply from before the crap hit the fan. Still waiting for prices to come down more before I buy any for target practice. Just a matter of time.

Been an interesting year when it comes to this topic. There used to be a bunch of gun manufactures in Connecticut. When that state and other states enacted tough gun laws those manufactures pulled up stakes and moved to friendlier states. Too bad some of them didn't move here. We could use those skilled jobs. Those states that lost those businesses are sorry now. New York, Connecticut, Colorado can suck crap.

We got a new local shop that is going to meet their new ammo supplier, no middle man. 1000rds .223 $300
:nice:

You know I didn't even ask I was just glad to hear I don't have to purchase through Wal-Mart or the local AR shops. This guy is legit. Apparently his wife's an attorney and he's a financial advisor. Had some people looking to invest. Next thing you know... BAM! $20,000,000 for a gun store. The ammunition is even warrantied in case you get duds, just bring them back and he'll refund you the rounds or give you rounds. They're the only ammo company with a warranty. They're leaving today or tomorrow to finalize the deal. He emptied out his Suburban except for the front two seats and is loading up , until the first truck comes. @gaslight

Well the buddy I went with is a hoarder and a prepper. Ive asked him many times when Ill see him on that Doomsday Prepper show LOL. In all seriousness tho I just like messing with him and Im not making fun of him for it and he knows that

I need to stop by here more often lol. Always forget to check this site. Yeah I have seen a lot more .223 / 5.56 even walmart has had a lot and they have had the bulk 160 round bricks for awhile. Finally put an optic on the AR and it shoots great even for a red dot I was able to hit a target at 100 yards with steel case ammo. Ive mostly been buying steel case anyway and I have not bought any for awhile but at income tax time Id like to get a 500 or 1000 round brick of brass to go along w/ what I already have and keep shooting the steel case for target practice.

That prepper show is cool I used to watch it all the time, one of the few shows I miss on cable since I axed it over a year ago but maybe I can find it on netflix or Hulu.

Bryan I still have your fender roller I never did use it b/c what I did on my own seemed to work and Ive been running the weld wheels all summer anyway so the 8" wide wheel VS my 10.5" Cobra R's made a big difference.

How you like that Bushnell?

Its pretty nice I like it. Its the TRS-32 I got it for $106 on clearance at midway USA. For what I use it for and the amount I use it I'm happy with it. Wouldn't mind having an AimPoint but the cost did not justify it at this point.

That's a good price. Yea, I was about to say I know Bushnells aren't great. I was looking at a Savage .308 other day, one comes with a Bushnell scope but for an extra $100 you get some upgraded scope. Holy crap that sucker was NICCCCEEE. Extra $100, yea why not, if you got it. At the end of the day it all comes down to what you're going to use it for and how often you'll actually need it. I bought a cheaper Wal-Mart 1x40mm red/green dot scope the other day for my 5.56, it was nice. I returned it though. I figure my iron sights are reliable enough for my use. Ha-ha it's no Barrett.
