MY 65 HAS 67 SPINDLES.
WHAT ALIGNMENT SPECS SHOULD I USE ?? 65 0R 67 ??
THE ALIGNMENT SHOP DID NOT KNOW.

hello;

you need a new alignment shop. if most of the roads you drive on have a crown in the center, than your alognment should be staggered/split.

if you are on flat roads and bot doing auto cross etc., i would use.

camber - negative 4 - 5.

caster - positive 2.0

toe in 3/16"

Do you have stock height and width tires and wheels? New, wide and low profile radials will likely respond differently to specs than the bias donuts it came with. An experienced shop should have a good feel for what you need. If the alinement machine operator is younger than your daily driver, find another shop.

Thanks fer your feedback guys. Yes, the alignment tech was younger than my daily driver. He only knew what the laser alignment machine told him. Another shop told me that 67 spindles would not fit a 65 because of a wider wheelbase, but there "are" installed. It is so hard to get good help nowadays. Most shops are only parts changers, not true mechanics. Anyway I solved my issues by using a borrowed toe board and a tape measure. a few passes on some flat road & a few roadside adustments (the fenders were removed) the car now tracks true.

There is you proof that a new laser tool is only as good as the user. I have never had guts to do it with a tape measure and a couple of boards, but I know folks who get the best results that way. An old Bear Alinement shop with a competent mechanic is my preference. Of course, you are lucky to find a kid who can change your points or do anything pre OBDII also.
