Check if that is in stock before you buy it. I tried to buy the polished one a while back and after a week and no part. I contacted them. UPR told me they no longer stocked them even though the site said in stock. UPR for the win. as usual.

I haven't bought anything from UPR in along time. I've had this rad cover for 10 years or so.

Please say tri bars. I hate waffle wheels. Polished split spokes are nice too.

Nope. None of those. Was a clean set on '98 Cobras with brand new tires. Was literally about to hop in my car to go pick them up when the guy told me he had someone more local buy them.

Just updating this thread. I'm an idiot.

The white clip in the beginning DOES fit I was just installing it wrong.

What I found was 83-87 got the metal clip. Around 88-89 got a small black clip, and the 89-93 cars got the white clip in the original post. The white and black clips interchange and the repro shops just sell the white one for the 88-93 cars. No idea if the early cars can get the plastic clip

All three will install in my '88 once I figured out how. I believe the slots for the metal clip disappeared in 1990 with a sheet metal change for that part of the body

I replaced the incorrect metal clip I installed with the correct plastic one for my year i purchased NOS.

White one is a tad wider, but that's the only difference.

For the sake of completeness, in case someone searches, this is the 79-82 prop rod clip

My 79 5.0, Not GT, came with a u shape metal clip. That was long enough ago that it was probably stock.

For those who have these hood props, I’ve been considering them as they seem easy to install, but I’ve read a lot about how they cause need for hood readjustment, is this true?

Did someone put gas struts on yours? They came factory with the swing up support rod instead of a broom handle. No adjusting has been needed with the factory rods on two Fox Mustangs. The 87 Cougar May have had struts.
