Finally got some time to do some data logging with my set up. Willie from Dirty Dirty Racing has been chipping away on it with me.

331 H/C/I stroker, with all the bolt ons and a V1 S-Trim squirting out 14psi.

I'd hoped my fuel needs were being met with the 255Lph HP, stock lines and rails, but alas....it looks like lines and rails will be in my future this spring. Cant say just yet how much power it's making, but fuel seems to start falling of at around 5,200RPM. He tried adding more fuel in this area, but by 5,500RPM, it looks like fuel is done. :(

I may upgrade to a 340lph pump, with the Pro-M fuel hanger along with upgraded lines. I'm going to save the fuel rails for last, just in case I can get my with the stock ones.

Since I am limited to the strength of the stock block at this point, I have no intention on pushing the power levels beyond whatever my current set up (properly supplied by fuel) will offer.

It's the lines, that's what Ive run into, the stock lines are feed 5/16 and return 1/4
What happens is the return line start the choke point and begins to act as the FPR.

I burned up my A340 due to stock lines, also the stock return delivers the fuel to the top of the tank causing allot aeration in the fuel once tank is low causing pump cavitation as well, I've been advised 6an feed and return should be for my coyote, I think Scott and Jeff are 8an / 6an.

I've ordered the pro m hanger too, it's on back order till 10-15, you can also build one from an sn95 hanger - it's has the 3/8 feed so you just need to repipe the return on the hat or drill a return into your tank - has to return into the baffle

Yeah, that hanger is a pretty neat set up. Makes complete sense too.

Dammit, now I'm worried about the return fuel aerating the fuel in the tank. The hanger that came with my fuel system is just a stock one with -8 and -6 AN attachments welded on. I guess I'll just make sure I always have at least a half tank of fuel at all times.

FWIW I run an 250lph HP in the tank stock lines and rails 50lb injectors.. duty cycle approaching 70% at 5800rpm. 9psi (470hp+-5%) I have not noticed anything funky with my fuel pressure at this point.

I've seen guys make 500-525 at the tire on stock lines before for what it's worth .

Doing the upgrade is not going to harm anything by any means though

Ya, obviously part of the video is prom marketing too, after talking with allot of knowledgable folks over the last 3 months specifically about this, it's almost car specific for these issues, guess I shoulda said that too

I never noticed a fuel pressure issue and AF is spot on - most of the time
However I do have an issue so gonna tackle it head on fuel and power to the pump redo....
IMO - Cheap compared to what's under the hood ....

FWIW I've made near or over 500hp on several cars with the stock rails, lines, and fuel hanger. I think that video is a lot of PRO M marketing. I think you would hear all of that airation in the tank, no?

Agreed but, I know when my tank was low my pump overheated and died (well melted), Aeromotive said they couldn't definitively say what caused it but were leaning towards cavitation since my power was good...
So what do you do

Taking steps to eliminate potential cause makes sense to me... replace lines (they recommended 6an (3/8), have return that feeds to near bottom of baffle, better venting out, and ensure power is sized correctly....

The biggest plus is Aeromotive was super helpful, replaced the pump and made recommendations to stop the fuel heating and the pump cavitating while they didnt have to do anything - That is customer service!!!

So, has anybody bought and installed the Pro-M fuel pump hanger? A fuel system upgrade is my next step and this hanger with my current 340 Aeromotive should be a perfect match for my supercharged 306. I've thought about going the 03/04 Cobra tank direction, but don't really need two pumps for my power level and the Pro-M setup would be simpler and cheaper. Seems as though the hanger is always on back order though.
