I finished the metal work and realized I had time to do the bondo, did that and reprimered it. This fender was WAY easier than the left one!

That bumper looks great !!!

I really cant wait to see those parts back on the car. Amazing job, man.

You realize you started something when you helped out madmike1157. Now everyone wants you to come paint our cars.

Imagine life traveling the world doing what you do best....with a pocket full of green backs and belly full of drinks. [emoji385] [emoji385] [emoji385] [emoji12]

You keep teasing us with these nice paint jobs and great bodywork.....give us a price already....we're already sold on your skill level. [emoji106]

When you say trim color, are you talking about around the windows, or do you mean the horizontal body trim around the car? I personally think body color trim around the car (not around the windows) is the way to go. It makes it so much cleaner and more modern looking.

A couple examples of what I mean. Black around the windows, but body color moldings. I would prefer black mirrors on the blue car, but again just my $.02

Ok, just read thru! For some reason I had a desire to have a neat Johnny Blue with a Ballast point sculpin chaser. Whilst I enjoyed that, I learned;
1.Daves wife is smoking hot in pink.
2. Don't even think of spraying paint around here.
3. Rats have bunions.
4. Band camp is expensive.
5. Kona Blue is tinted with water from Hawaii.
6. I'm old cause I had a 8-track
7. Don't let my wife know about stangnet! ( she does know my same screen name on the off road forums though!)
8. Not sure about Wookie wieners :0
9. Stiffler's mom has a mustang.
10. You guys are nuts!

I'm inspired!
But sure as hell not enough to paint.

Hey Nick. By trim, I do mean the mouldings around the windows. Also the light buckets and grills area of the bumper. I agree the mirrors need to be the trim color as well.
The bodyside mouldings will be blue.

I'm not sure about the door handles yet, but, at least from a distance, I do like the handles on the blue car you got there.

I'm glad you've caught the most salient points in my thread so far!:nice:

Seriously though, I hope I haven't discouraged you concerning painting. It really is just about being diligent in preparation and follow through.

I know my threads periodically may get off track:eek:, but the whole process of restoring a car is very entertaining for me, including the foolish banter with other car guys.

If you seriously ever need help with paint and body, go to my fox body paint 101 thread and ask questions, I'll help all I can.

This thread is about this car and the odds and ends bs that goes into making it run again. While I hope there are things there that show people things they can do, it's also about me struggling through my pathetic life to come up with something nice in the end.

Jobber sounds like a Canadian insult. I wish Brian was here to clarify
Jobber could be a Canadian thing! :canada:

It's just what we call the paint stores and reps of those stores that service the accounts of the various body shops around town.

I'm not real sure where the name came from, hopefully it's a 'murican thing though:flag:.:jester:

How the hell do so many people get the opportunity to take a picture with a real p51? I've seen enough pics of mustangs with mustangs that I gotta wonder how they get it done.

Oh and not a fan of body colored mirrors

Me neither.

As for the P 51.......everytime I see a version of that pic, I'm always looking at the plane.

Fox Mustangs never compliment the plane, and the plane never needs the distraction.

kinda like........

There's some kind of white car behind that bikini.

Two things I don't like, the wheels are too big, they got to be at least 20's, though I do like the style of the wheels. I would also paint the grille/light bucket area black.
