    wider tires on stock rims??

Maybe I'd like to see a picture. One way to know if they have clear coat is if a good metal polish turns black right away when used on the wheel. If so, no clear coat. If there is no black, clear coat.

    wider tires on stock rims??

Thanks for the info, I'll have to give it some thought. Walter I noticed you have polished aluminum wheels. Are they clear coated? If not do you find the upkeep hard? How do you keep them looking nice? I've had people tell me they have to polish them weekly.

    stock rims and tires

Is there anyone out there who actually likes the stock rims on the newer mustangs? I have a 06 gt that came with the split spoke 17" rim and I like the way it looks. I've actually tried both chrome 20's and polished 18's and I seem to go back to the stock set up. I also like the stock bullits...

I like the look of both, probably the 18's a little more but I do notice a difference in performance. I'ts definantly...

    new wheels

Thanks for the info. I live in N. Ca. so road salt is not a problem. The polished aluminum has no clear coat but since I enjoy cleaning my car anyway I guess keeping them polished should keep them looking nice.

    18 inch wheels

OK I've read that moving up to a 18x9 inch wheel (from the stock 17x8) will increase rotational mass even if the two wheels weigh the same. The wheels and tires I'm looking at weigh about 5lbs more per wheel and tire than stock. Will I really feel this much with daily driving? I have a 06 gt...

    new wheels

thanks for answering! Anyone else have any opinions? I have had people tell me to leave the stock rims if it's a daily driver, that the ride will suffer. Anyone have comments on that?

    new wheels

Can anyone tell me about the quality of AFS wheels out of So. Ca? I have a 2006 gt and was thinking of upgrading to 18x9 inch polished aluminum wheels with 255x45x18 tires. The stock offset of my 17x8 inch stock wheels is 45mm and the AFS wheels are 40mm. Anyone see any problems with this? Will...
