That sounds like a good plan. However I plan on taking this car to the track a lot and I want to keep the weight at a minimum. I was looking for mostly rear speakers non-sub. I guess I'll mount them in the rear side panels. The Ghia came without rear speakers, at least in my car.
Clean it up, put it together and ride. You should be alright providing the guy told you the whole truth about why he pulled it. Just make sure you clean all of the mess out of the cylinder and head very good.
Looks like to me the head gasket failed. You should be able to tell where the coolant was leaking past the gasket, sometimes. You might be OK with just throwing another gasket on there. There have been times I've been lucky like that. Be sure to clean everything up and look for cracks and...
Thanks for the reply, I remember when those Pioneer's came out. They were the buzz back in the day. I've got a 40 watt push button power booster from the late 70's I though about installing(just for grins). My uncle had it in his Duster and gave it me when he was cleaning out his closet. It...
I came up with a solution since no-one on this planet makes anything for this car. I decided to use a universal trunk gasket from Advance Auto Parts. To my amazement, It fit perfectly and solved the problem I was trying to correct. Now, on to the next pain in the Astrix.
OK, I wasn't going to do this but now I think I'm going to add rear speakers in my car. Every car I've had I had a kick ass sound system but had decided I wasn't going to put one in the Ghia. I would like to see some pics of how and where your rear speakers are mounted. Like I said I have a Ghia...
Thanks Jansen, that is what I thought. I have seen a diagram that showed it to be a orange wire. I just wanted to make sure and you just confirmed this for me. Thanks, Kevin
Anyone know the color of the sending unit wire that goes to the gauge is. I'm installing a after market gauge and I just plan on clipping the wire from the plug and connecting it to the gauge. I meant to trace the circuit before I re-installed everything.

The scrap yard will give him $600, yea right. The last time I checked metal was going for $8.50-$9.50 per/100 lbs. I recently sent a van to the yard that weighed around 3700 lbs and they gave me $322. I think metal was going for $9.75 that day. A Mustang II weighs what, 26-2700 lbs?
For someone...
Yea, duh:doh: airplanes are loaded with aluminum. Thanks again for the advice everyone. I working on my interior currently and when I'm done I'll give them a shot.
I like your idea about rims. I don't care to much for chrome rims.
Thanks guys for the advice. They do still have the clear coat on them. I plan on getting Weld wheels in the future but want to get these looking decent for right-now. I've heard of using aircraft paint stripper on the clear...
Anyone know how to shine up aluminum wheels? The five star wheels(I know, old school) on my car are a little dull and I would like to shine them up a little. It looks like oxidation has gotten the best of them and need something that will remove it. Thanks for any help.

Well, today I cut the man made seal that was preventing my sunroof from opening and found that the seal does not leak. I did find that the rear drain hose is leaking and will be an easy fix. Now, I need the felt gasket that fills the gap between the glass and roof of the car. Is there a...
Anyone know where I can find a replacement sunroof gasket for a 78 Ghia? The previous owner has silicon-ed the sunroof shut. I guess the gasket was leaking and instead of fixing it he opted to just seal it. I however want to use it. Thanks for any help.

Yea, I kinda feel the same way too. But, as hard as it is to find an original pad that is in good shape, the overlay my be the only option. At least for me. Of all of the cars I've had, the Mustang II is the hardest to find parts for. Man!!!
