I noticed today my car seems to be grinding going into 2nd at high RPM's and also when the engine is cold. After it warms up it seems fine until I get past 4k RPM's. It does not grind in any other gear. The car has about 58k miles on it. Do you guys think a fluid change would help the problem?

This is a 2003 4.6L Today while I was coming to a stop, when i pushed the clutch in, the car ideled real low (500RPM) then shot up to about 1k RPM then died....it did this 3 times total, all while coming to a stop with the clutch pushed in. I have also noticed while I am driving at a steady...

If I sanded this area down and spray painted it would it be noticable? or should I just take it to a shop and have them do it before it starts to rust...I know a guy that does body work and I am sure I could get him to paint it pretty cheap. Just want some opinions, and is this common on stangs?
