Clutch advice for lil' old lady driving a '67 Fastback

I found an article from another site that's a pretty good write-up on the DIY method, so that may be the way to go. Have to see if she's cool with a ricer pedal though, might really mess her up after driving this thing for 40 years with a mechanical linkage.

    suspension questions

Could be tires as well if they're even remotely aggressive/directional or have circumferential grooves. Most likely the toe-in is set a bit too much making the car feel skittish. Great for quick response, not great for cruising. Have the shop recheck the alignment and adjust the toe out a bit...

    Buying a 289 Block

Price depends on a lot of things, not the least of which is how badly the seller wants the junk, I mean engine, out of their backyard. ;) How complete is the motor, ie pan-to-intake, or is it missing something? How long has it been sitting? Was all the water drained and the block made ready for...

    225/45-17 too narrow?

It's amazing what tires you can get pried onto small rims. I picked up a set of 26x10 Hoosier slicks a ways back that were supposedly mounted on a 8" steel rim, which is fine according to Hoosier's specs, but they just never looked quite right. I made a quick rough measurement one day and found...

Clutch advice for lil' old lady driving a '67 Fastback

Well, my aunt's the original owner of a '67 Fastback, and this spring I'll be doing some freshening up on the car, including a new clutch for the Toploader. Question is, I need a clutch that's gentle on the leg, and I've got no experience here. Going to a hydraulic setup is kinda pricey and may...

#97 The only name I could find for it was 'shifter shaft plate', don't know if that's correct or not.

Need T45 help... broken shifter shaft plate

Posted this in the SVT section as well, but it's kinda' quiet over there... A buddy has a '96 Cobra that he broke a few weeks back messin' around with another friend, power-shifted 1-2 and then he had no first or second gear. Third through fifth and reverse still functioned. So, I figure...

Need T45 help... Broken shift shaft plate

A buddy has a '96 Cobra that he broke a few weeks back messin' around with another friend, power-shifted 1-2 and then he had no first or second gear. Third through fifth and reverse still functioned. So, I figure it's the shift fork, from what I've heard they're pretty weak. Take the thing...

    Repainting mirrors/wipers/cowl vent.

Duplicolor works fine. Hell, I did a pair of wiper arms on a Pontiac a few years back and sprayed flat black Rustoleum after having sanded/primed the arms. They actually turned out great, and were still very black 3 years later when I sold the car despite monthly washings and the Arizona sun.

HELP BAD IDLE!!! Please for the love of god

You won't always hear a leak. That's what's fun about them. A good hunting tool is a can of carb cleaner that you can spray into areas where a leak might occur. If the engine revs up when you spray an area, chances are you've got a leak there.

Which way does the throw out bearing go on?

Yep, big flat side that spins faces the clutch. Thin side faces the transmission.

HELP BAD IDLE!!! Please for the love of god

Disconnecting the MAF will probably make the car wuit running... What's the TPS voltage at idle? Have you put a vac gauge on the car or searched for a vac leak?

    What i need-98 V6 stang v.s. 00 Integra GSR

You have to admit though, that statement is straight out of Slow and the Stupid or some other ricer flick. Don't take it personal, some people are trained to laugh at phrases like 'smoke him'.
