Installed Mil's, "check engine" light still on?

03-s281, call BS all you want and you will still be wrong... I've taken apart lots of returned sets to diagnose the problem and overbending causing mechanical failure of the units (literally pulling the circuit board apart) is a typical failure mode. The DMP Mil Eliminators were designed...

    4.10's (Speed cal box)

I really need those switch settings for this method. I sent you PM reply with the same thing in it. Just pull the settings and PM me (or post here), leave the cover off, and I'll give you a reply this evening.

    4.10's (Speed cal box)

ALkYuLA, you dont need to change out the driven gear to get it to work. Driven at least 10 miles against another car and record both odometer readings to the tenth mile and your current switch settings. Email them to me and I can send you another set of codes to try.

    Rear 02s the same?

All FOUR O2 sensors are the same! They are all narrow band O2 sensors and only differ in connector color and keying. For the rears, use whatever you've got laying around as long as they keep the light off thats all that matters. From my own experience and helping others, I've had best luck with...

    cigarette lighter not working

On your 98 the fuse in mislabeled. I believe its labeled drivers power seat and is under the hood. I think they moved the power socket fuses into the inside fuse block in 99 and newer.

Need some help! Speedo quit working...

Will, more than likely its a fuse. The fuse for the aux power outlet is mislabeled on the 98's. I believe its labeled as the power seat fuse and is under the hood, not under the dash. The 99+ cars moved the fuse to under the dash. If you solder on a power line with power still on the line you...

    O2 sensor

Wow thats pretty amazing that both O2 heaters went south together. I've never seen that one before. Is it possible you damaged them taking them out and transferring them to the other pipe? Believe it or not they're actually very sensitive to shock, IE whacking with a tool or something like that...

    O2 sensor

Yeah, but I gotta believe it will be an easy find. Just check the fuses, I did it the other day for exactly the same problem on a 99 (which has yet another completely different fuse box layout....)

    O2 sensor

Well the owners manual for my 96 acutally breaks out whats on what circuit. On the CD for the 98 it doesnt look like they break it out as much. My 96 shows a fuse inside specifically for the HEGO (heated exhaust gas oxygen sensors) which would be for the heater circuit. Theres a bigger PCM fuse...

    O2 sensor

P0141 and P0161 are O2 heater circuit fault codes, not the actual sensor itself but the heater element which helps it reach operating temp quicker. If you're getting both of these codes together you could have a fuse out. I'd have to look at a CD to be sure but both codes together sound like a...

    O2 sensor

Incorrect. Mil Eliminators require a healthy functioning O2 sensor in order to do their job. Catalytic converters are basically mechanical low pass filters that provide oxygen storage in the exhaust. Mil Eliminators are electronic low pass filters that filter the healthy O2 sensor signal and...

    O2 sensor

Please post what the code number is and then we will know how to proceed. Without that information its all just guess work. But the actual code number will tell me whats wrong.

Will I pass OBD II emissions?

Mil Eliminators will allow the OBDII catalyst monitor to pass and show a "Ready" status. In order to be perfectly clean on an OBDII scan you need to have a) No active SES light b) no "pending codes" in the computer (these actually wont throw an SES until they trip to an active code and c) All...

    o2 Sensor Question (help)

I think the BBK's are DMP ones. They we're at one time anyway. If you've got a digital camera snap a pic of one and email it to me at [email protected] and I can tell for sure. Can you tell me what the exact codes were? That would help me know where to go. Hell you bought them, you...

    o2 Sensor Question (help)

DarkHorse, are you saying thats what you're doing now or are you having problems and looking for help? Dominus Servi, for a rear O2 code engine tuning is not altered in any way whatsoever. Some codes will alter tuning, but not a rear O2 code.

    o2 Sensor Question (help)

Sorry but no, P0136 and P0156 are voltage level tests as I have already said and they are rear O2 sensor codes so they are not used in any way to determine a rich or lean condition. At least once during a drive cycle the computer forces a rich and lean condition and looks at all four O2 sensors...

    Bank 2 lean?

Good call on the injectors Sam. A clogged injector can most definately do this. And yes, a quick look at the long term fuel trims will tell you whether its on the intake side (which would affect both banks) or from one bank onward. If one trim is "reasonable" and the other is pegged lean (which...

    o2 Sensor Question (help)

If it was code 136 then that is bank 1 sensor 2 voltage level fail. Mil Elims can cause that code. And that code can show up with aged O2 sensors also. It has to do with how the Mil Eliminator interacts with the O2 sensor and the input impedence on the computer. Basically the Mil Eliminators act...
