12 # Boost Vs Stock Longblock (Pics)

Here is another pic. I should have the longblock, blower, and transmission on order early next week. My spreadsheet of **** I need/want is getting longer. You have to be a crackhead to spend this kind of money on a mustang.

    new gear use old shims?

Do not change them unless you have to in order to get correct backlash and/or contact patch. They are just spacers, they don't wear to speak of. Clean them good with brake cleaner and relube... P.S. if you use FRPP gears the stock spacers should get ur backlash almost perfect. Don't mix the...

12 # Boost Vs Stock Longblock (Pics)

I will not rule out detonation, but looking at and disassembling the shortblock I am convinced that the connecting rod went first. Maybe the rod let go because of slight detonation, I don't know. All plugs are very close to .025" gap still. The broken piston is because of the broke connecting...

12 # Boost Vs Stock Longblock (Pics)

I was running a MPH mongoose kit with V2-SQ 3.33" and vortech aftercooler. Of course the kit comes with 42# injectors, 90mm MAF, tune, and SVT focus pump. Plus I have a BAP and wideband commander. The a/f did not go lean and no sign of detonation. It looks like my #8 connecting rod just had...

12 # Boost Vs Stock Longblock (Pics)

What more to say other than many years of nitrous and boost before the stock 2v longblock let go. I was at high speed WOT and bang a connecting rod or two let go. The stang has been down over a year waiting for $$$, now is the time. The 4r70w is in great shape but the stock shortblock is...

Want to Know how to install a Vortech SQ S-Trim??

Rule of thumb is easy on the front cover aluminum and you can crank down more on the alternator bolt (iron). Just research the instructions to determine what you need and make sure you have it before you start. And be warned that installing the belt/supercharger is a PITA. You will hate...

Did I hook up my trans cooler wrong?

There are significant differences between a transmission and engine. 130 deg fluid is much better than 170 deg fluid for keeping a transmission running a long time under severe duty. I have seen industrial applications where we pumped chilled water through heat exchangers in the transmissions...

Did I hook up my trans cooler wrong?

Ok, I understand what you are saying but I have had my B&M cooler after the stock cooler for 80K miles without issue. Yea my trans temps get stupid low sometimes but that is alright with me.

    The Missing Link

The new caliper brackets came with the mach 1 brake kit. Everything needed, including pads and SS lines, are included in the $350 mach 1 kit. I have factory 17x8 rims and it fit fine. A complete brake bleed should be done at the same time, you need 3 bottles of motorcraft high performance...

    The Missing Link

OK to make you happy here you go. J/K I don't have a digital camera right now plus most people know what cobra, bullit, and mach brakes look like. We could always discuss a more technical topic if you want? -Why centri blowers increase boost based off the square of rpm. -Fuel pump duty cycle...

What kind of tools do I need?

If your pads need replacing then you need to get your rotors turned or buy new ones. In the past I had to buy new ones since the old ones were to thin (according to ford spec...) and could not be turned down. Recently I ordered mach 1 front brakes for $350 and installed them yesterday. My...

    The Missing Link

Yup $350, they used to have them for $320. I just took the mustang out for a spin and all I can say is wow. I could kick myself for not getting these years ago.

    The Missing Link

I finally installed a mach 1 brake kit on my supercharged 02 GT. I have had a basic steeda suspension for years but had failed to add cobra brakes. These brakes finally complete the suspension work that I started 4 years ago. If you don't have cobra or mach brakes yet go and get some they are...

lost a rib on the serpentine belt

Check to make sure the spacer washer is in the correect location on the vortech bracket. Also make sure the tensioner is still OK. My tensioner would bounce around a lot so I replaced it with the new belt.

    The $4,000 Question

Your best bang for the buck would be to order the kit with a 3.33" pulley instead of the stock 3.60" pulley. Then at a later time you can add a power pipe. I purchased a used aftercooled mongoose kit from MPH about 6 months ago and it has been great. The mongoose kit will be the best mod...

    Quick Q about n2o switches.

Coming from an electronics background the word microswitch just means small switch... Most likley the microswitch you are refering to is a micro lever switch, AKA wot switch. TPS switch = throttle position sensor switch It is actually a voltage triggered solid state switch. Don't know if...

    To Much TQ?

I have the stock fuel pump. On the 100 and 150 shot my wideband would indicate that a lean spike (sometimes a lean hump) would occur right after N2O activation. The spike or hump would rarely stay over 14.7 for more than .2 sec. Then it would go to say 13.5 a/f then 13.0, 12.5, 12.0 a/f...

    wet or dry n20??

No one can really TELL you what is best for you. Wet or Dry they both have advantages and disadvantages. Do more research!!!

    To Much TQ?

I have played with 150 shot jets... No damage yet... I have only used about 40lbs with 150 jets. The other 120+ lbs were at 100 shot. Just remember your rods are really storng with compressive loading but weak with pulling forces (rpms). So keep your rpms down to 5500rpms and don't...
