    '65 coupe project for sale

Time has come for me to part with my mustang, for financial reasons.. I realize I don't have enough money and time or space to finish my project.. The shell was going to have some metal repair and paint stripped before I realized I either need to button it up and move it, or sell it. So I...

    Entering uncharted territory

Hi y'all... So I'm getting ready to start working on rusted sheet metal and doing bodywork... two things that are very foreign to me. When it comes to engine mechanical, removal, various other tasks, even electrical... it's like I'm at work, and no big deal at all. Anyways, I'm ready to jump...

    8.8" axle/w housing in a '65

I have a '65 I'm swapping the 8" for an 8.8. The housings are within a few inches of eachother, which could be offset by wheels... but if I'm going to mini-tub the back , I think I will need to shorten the housing accodringly.. correct? I've read a thread by Mustangman70 about swapping an...

    Big Brother Program!!

I'd be willing to help if you're in my area... I've been where you are before and if you ask for help you'll probably find someone to help you out. You can know all the theory behind how something works, but if you've never had it apart and back together it can be a little intimidating the...

Ok Izzy, I only got one of the master cylinder which has the rears going to an adjustable proportioning valve... I forgot to get the pic of the distribution block on the firewall... next time! :nice: I got my driver's side fender off... and by the looks of it I have a little more rust on the...

    After 5+ years...

Izzy- I will be at the shop tomorrow and take a few pics for you. I had non-power drums on all corners with the single bowl master cylinder. I bought the ssbc kit that fits under the 14" wheels with mc and booster and everything. There's a little bending required and it comes with an...

    After 5+ years...

Thanks, it's good to be back among fellow mustang enthusiasts. I do smogs for some of the body shops by where I work so I'm going to see what kind of deal they can give me on blasting/stripping since I don't have any experience doing it myself, or any of the equipment. Depending on the cost I...

    After 5+ years...

I'm finally getting to work on the stang again. I've been lurking but not posting for the last 5 to 6 months... I used to be here all the time 5-6 years ago. About that time I put a cam/intake/carb on my 2bbl 289, ended up spinning a cam bearing and pulling the 289/c4. Since then I've just...

    Pulled engine/trans today

I was sure it was a rod bearing, but I took all the rod caps off and they all had bearings so must be a main. So a stroker kit with 9.5-10:1 pistons, what kind of aftermarket heads should I run? afr165's?

    Pulled engine/trans today

After many weeks of procrastinating.. I finally got the cherry picker and some help in pulling my motor. I had the hood off and some stuff disconnected prior to today, but ended up having to take a bunch more stuff out. All in all, made a little bit of a trans fluid/ coolant mess, nothing...

    Burn out

I know the feeling... I've neglected mine for 3-4 months now. The hood is off, battery is disconnected, I have an engine stand... just need to get the cherry picker. Maybe it's because I know it's not going to get driven for another few months, I'm not trying to rush myself. Don't worry, I'm...

    the news on my engine

So a friend's dad who builds hot rods came over and listened to my knock. Having never heard a bearing knock, I wanted to get a professional's opinion. Sure enough, he's saying its a rod knock. Cool thing is he offered to help me rebuild the 289, and he has a hoist, along with a huge air...

Anyone ever used or heard a raven muffler?

I used to work for midas and heard the ravens on everything from 4 cyl hondas to V8s, they sound pretty bad on 4s and 6s...kinda like flows on V8s, more on the loudness scale of a 3 chamber though.

price of a 8" locker pumpkin

I paid in the neighborhood of $500 for mine, plus shipping. Mine was set up by a professional with new r&p, bearings and seals. Also came with the nodular case... was even painted.

    9" locker in 8" rear?

There's a guy in Ohio who takes 8" axle housings and cuts the center out, welds in a 9"... so you can drop a 9" 3rd member with 28 spline axles. If anyone wants more info on how to contact him for pricing or what not, pm me.

    Thinking about selling the stang

Its the amount of time I'm putting into this. I'm sure everyone here has looked at their project, thought about how much more time and money its gonna take to get it how you want it... and had moments of doubt. With mine, a new engine is going to run in the ball park of 2-3k-- that's...

how to install rear wheel studs???

Don't know if this is the official "correct way" but it works for me on all kinds of cars... er, most anyways. To get the old ones out, make sure they are clear of the hub and give them a few good bangs with a hammer until they pop out. To get the new ones in, I put a nut that is going to...
