Holding the Torque Converter, pissing me OFF

Putting the car in gear won't help any, it will turn through the torque converter. There is no mechanical lock in an auto unless the converter is locked. I held mine by putting a wrench on one of the flex plate bolts. There should be a little inspection hole (not the one on the bottom of the...

    auto vs. manual

Those numbers were with 10 psi. Not nearly impressive as a 5 spd but I'm happy with it. My only other mod is a prochamber mid pipe with a flowmaster catback. Headers and torque converter are coming soon (3600 rpm stall). I may end up losing the 4.10 for a 3.73 swap. Troy

    auto vs. manual

I have an auto and sometimes wish I had a manual, but not for the reasons you list. First, it only appears that the retios of an automatic are numerically lower than those of a manual, but when you consider that the torque converter also has a ratio associated with it (I think its around 2:1...

    ? for those with 4.10s and a 470rw

KJ- I have a stock torque converter for the time being and the tires were 275/40-17 Nitto drag radials. This is also with bad 60 ft times as well. Usually, average a 2.05 60 ft time. Troy

    supercharging a 2002 autp gt?

I have to agree with DBMSTNG here. I have a 1999 Gt auto with a vortech and I don't have any of the shifting "problems" StangLou is talking about. I also have 4.10 gears so I don't quite make it to 90 mph in second, but it still holds out second gear until 6000 rpm. I've seen full boost (10 psi)...

Laptop Dyno software on HOT ROD TV !~

I used a program called desktop dyno that did what you are talking about. But it was a few years ago. Like was mentioned before, you do have to know every last detail spec about your engine. It did have some preset engines that you could pull up and modify. At the time there were no modulars...

Has anyone ever changed their seat's covers?

seat cover installation I replaced my factory cloth with factory leather myself. It's a pain in the a$$. I had a pro do the top portion of the back seat because the new pieces didn't have the trunk carpet on them so I had to get it sewn in. If I were to do it again, I would pay someone. The...

    Fordchips...

I had fordchip reflash my computer for my 4.10's. I talked to one of the guys about wanting firmer shifts and different shift tables so I had to get a stage two chip. I got the chip but then I found out my service port was disabled. Fordchip asked me to ship the whole computer to them and they...

    Analyze my dyno-1999 GT Auto

Yeah, it probably has something to do with the car being an auto. I've had my car dynoed by two different people and both complained about not being able to slowly accelerate into third and then stab the throttle without the car downshifting. Both people said that's why my torque curve never...

    Analyze my dyno-1999 GT Auto

My first dyno with a mac cai and flowmaster catback gave about the same hp numbers. The avg of three runs was 217 hp (not sure of rpm) but my torque was quite a bit higher at 259. Mine is also a 1999 Auto. After reading your sig, I also ran a best of 14.2 in the quarter with that combo. Troy

Going to T&J Performance soon (upgrades)

hotel I stayed at the Fairfield Inn on Windward Pkwy. There are quite a few hotels right there. I used travelocity.com and looked for a hotel in Alpharetta. I think it was $50/night and about 15 minutes from T&J. Troy
